New guy afraid of getting rooked

Hi everyone
I'm new to rving, 69, and am in the process of buying a 2015 323lkts. Supposed to close the deal tomorrow my wife asked them to send pix of the trailer before we drive up there tomorrow. Well they had swapped out the leather furnature for cloth. Confronted them and they said it was swapped out 3 months ago and we had seen the unit with the cloth, not true. Nevertheless, they agreed to put the leather back. Now I'm concerned that they've swapped out some other things as well. Being a new guy this would be hard for me to detect. Is this typical? Anything to look at specifically that might have been swapped? General opinions on the 323lkts? Thanks, rick

I can not speak for your model of RV; however, I will say that unlike cars RV's have changes throughout the year. Basically when the manufacture runs out of supplies from one batch, they start using the next.

I would think that the build sheet (with the VIN specific to this trailer) would tell you if the TT was shipped with cloth or leather. If the dealer is trying to pass off the trailer with cloth furniture when it in fact was shipped with leather, I'd look for another dealer.

The dealer has no input into these changes. Often they don't know until it comes in.
I am still wary if you don't feel comfortable, beware.

I get the impression from the OP that the dealer swaped out the furniture, not the manufacturer (Jayco). My take is that the dealer had a previous sale who had the cloth but wanted the leather, so they swaped it out. No biggie in my opinion, just trying to make the sale and give the customer what they want. Nice that the dealer will put leather back in for you.

Agree with Iraqvet05.

Jayco sends the Build Sheet with each RV. It will be VIN specific, list each and every option as well as the MSRP price. Compare that build list with the unit to confirm. Many dealers with swap items from one to another in order to close a deal, its not uncommon. If you are OK with the options the trailer then I don't see an issue in purchasing it, just ensure the MSRP you are working from is adjusted to the "on lot" condition of the unit.

You probably already know this, but the goal is to get 30% off MSRP. This is frequently achieved, occasionally a bit more or a bit less. I only purchased one NEW TT, I was able to get 28% off MSRP after delivery to California was factored in.
