NICE!

Also good contrast with all the snow you have there.

Yes we still have a fair bit of snow here yet it will still be more than a month before I pick up the 5th wheel! But now that the truck is here I am getting excited

Jeez man. Gorgeous truck... That thing just looks ready to grunt. Enjoy the torque and work it healthy - that's what they're made for. I keep hearing the praises for the 6.7 PowerStroke, and someday I will have one in my driveway too!

Out of curiosity did you compare GM's and the Ram choices, or just straight up Ford guy.

I did look at the Chevs and the Rams although not to hard. I am a 25 year Licensed Auto Technician and my preference is Toyota but they don't make a truck big enough. My experience over the last 25 years working on vehicles played large into my choice of truck plus the fact that both the local Chev and Dodge dealers failed miserably at anything that could be called trying to sell me a vehicle. Chev dealer principal said he had a truck told me the price and I had to draw the few details that I got about it from him. Didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy, and didn't even take me out and show me the vehicle! The salesman at Dodge told me to go home and go online was the best way when I said I wanted to build a truck. I did get to see the Dodge although it was in the third row back and i couldn't get in drivers door! So i didn't actually drive either one! Where as the Ford dealer we sat down and built 2 or 3 different trucks and I picked the one that I liked for options and price, I drove one he had on the lot and made my decision from all the info and data that i had collected. I ordered the truck in Jan and it arrived this week! Also this way I'm hoping that I don't have to carry around spare wheel bearings (like a Chev) and a spare everything (for a Dodge) and its not a 6.0l so I don't need spare headgaskets for the Ford!

Sorry to those with Chevs and Rams I know all manufacturers have their good and bad vehicles and these are only my opinions.

Did you get the factory 5th wheel/gooseneck package? If so which hitch are you getting? I got the B&W Companion for mine. So far so good.

As Moomoo824 said, check out the B&W Companion for the Ford puck system. After shopping for the best price online, I got Discount Hitch to install it too for that price. I really, really like this hitch!

1x on the B&W, it's proving to be a nice hitch. Downside is my insurance spent abt $500 for me to learn I shoulda got a slider. We make do with it, can't make a full lock u-turn without contacting the rear cab. Bought mine on-line. Not much to install, drop the base into the puck mounts, twist & pin the locking handles and drop the top part on and pin it in place. Required adjusting the pucks after a few uses (manual said that would happen).

Looking at the B&W it looks like the hitch plate only pivots front to rear and not side to side is this thaa way it is or am i missing something?

Here's a short video that shows the pivot point for the side-to-side travel. This video will address what you're asking, I believe.

Have you looked at the "Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection" by Anderson Hitches? Check it out, pretty sweet system if you ask me.
