On a scale of 1 to 10..

I'm thinking of trading my 30 foot Jayco bunkhouse TT for a fifth wheel. On a scale of one to ten (one being no difference) how much easier is it to pull, park, and hook up a fifth wheel verses and travel trailer? Thanks in advance!

9 easier to hook up.
10 easier to pull, especially if you are talking 30+ft TT compared to 5th wheel.

Park? That's hard to determine. 5th wheel will pivot faster and normally have more tail swing. My 27 ft TT had the same distance from front jacks to rear axle as my 37 ft 5th wheel, the 5th wheel was 10 ft longer but had the same turning radius.

Only draw back is parking and inside corner turning. A 5th will cut the corner more. You really need to pay attention when turning right on tighter turns.
Parking is a learning process. A 5th won't react as fast as a TT. I find when backing in that I need to start my corrections sooner.
Both of those are really minor issues compared to the benefits of towing, hitching and loading.

Wow, and I thought backing would b easier. What I'm after is the same square foot living area but with a shorter over all rig ( truck and camper).

You can do that with a 5th wheel. Only real difference with a 5th wheel you have to watch is the height. Most campgrounds are cleared enough as motor homes and 5th wheels are common.

I've drug a 5th wheel from Maine to key west and out to Michigan and back. In and out of parking lots, theme parks, and true story a cemetery. Never got close enough to have to worry about sliding the hitch or hitting the cab, never curbed a tire.

X3...........10, but it's like anything else, the more you tow it the easier it seems to be. Have never had to slide the hitch in my 2013 Mega Cab Dually short bed and like with all trailers you swing wide when turning so you don't climb curbs but a travel trailer versus a 5th wheel, the TT being longer you'd have to swing out wider to keep from jumping curbs. Backing is easier also it just takes a little practice and always helps if you have an extra pair of eyes whether 5th wheel or TT!!!

I will say much easier on every point except in the height watch and turn aspects. You will need to learn to negotiate turning a little more since the track is different.

If you have towed that 30ft TT you will have no problems towing or backing issues, a learning curve just like your TT. Turns are no different, watch the inside trailer wheels on all turns, cities have center islands with curbs. There will be a little more height depending on which 5W you buy. Tree branches are the biggest issue as most bridges are 14ft+ per federal regs.

I really have to agree with this assessment. I went to a 5er this year from a 29ft TT and have exactly the same experience and rating thoughts on this subject!
