onan 5.5 generator install

Didn't want to tag onto existing thread as this may be a little off subject.
I am installing my generator today. Yesterday I looked for exhaust routing. I will install exhaust out the driver side between the slides. Although it sounds like I could go under the bedroom slide as it would be higher than 3' above exhaust, but not comfortable with that idea. Either way I will be crossing over my propane line. I want to keep exhaust as high as possible but leave a few inches clearance. I also have the black corrugated stuff enclosing the under belly. I was thinking of getting exhaust wrap or sleeve for the exhaust line for additional heat protection. Wrap/sleeve looks to be good from 1200 to 1800 degrees. Has anyone done this?
