Ordered a 2016 North Point 375BHFS

And the wait begins!! We were debating between the 375 and an Eagle 345BHTS and after two weeks of debating with the wife we came to the conclusion if we were going to get a fifth wheel that the 375 would be a considerable upgrade and larger layout than our 314BDS which was basically the same layout as the 345 but in a fifth wheel.

We are towing with a 2014 Ford F-350 CCSB diesel so we choose a pullrite super glide hitch and will add airbags if needed. We have to sell my cap and put on a roll and lock tonneau cover.

We ordered it from Rhone's Travel Trailers in Cogen Station, PA which is a family owned dealer. I have bought many vehicles of all kinds over the years and I must say that Guy, my salesperson, has been one of the best sales people that I have ever done business with and I also spoke to the owner a few times and took time to answered all my questions as well. We might not have gotten the cheapest price out there but I felt I was a good deal. The 314 we bought at the cheapest place but everything else about the place including service was terrible.

Looking forward to see all the new upgrades to the 2016's

Just Joined and possibly joining the "North Point" Family

I just joined the forum in hopes to snoop around and get some info.

My family currently enjoys a 2013 Rockwood Windjammer V Nose Travel Trailer. We have really enjoyed the past three years with it, but with the time we put into camping, we think a fifth wheel may better suit our needs.

I just upgraded my truck last week to a 2015 Silverado 2500 Crew with the Duramax Engine. We just returned from a week in Wells, Maine and the truck towed my trailer like it wasn't even back there!

But now the problem is...I have the capability to pull a bigger trailer.

We spent about 3 hours at Albany RV (RV ONE) and they tried to get us to sign on the line after looking at a 2015 375BHFS. Of course it will have to be ordered, so now it will be the North Point instead of the Eagle Premiere. The coach looks AMAZING...and I am so close to a deal...we will have to see what they can do!

Nhfire152,
The North Point 375 bhfs is an awesome unit and you won't regret getting a Jayco. The 375 is a bit heavy with a dry pin weight of 2550 lbs so be careful of not exceeding your cargo capacity of your 2500 which is on your sticker in your door jam. I know with my one ton 350 I will be close once the truck is loaded with my family and the fifth wheel is loaded but still should be under my limits and may have to put air bag in if it doesn't sit level. Good luck on finding a fifth wheel but just be careful with your weight capacities as the salesperson will say you can tow anything he has on the the lot to make the sale.

Congrats EricRom. We love ours! You are right that this is a pin heavy unit and it will push a 2500 to it's limits on capacities.

Thank you to you and the others. I know it will be very close, if not over the limits of my truck...Will airbags help in the event that I am just close and not over? My thought is that the only thing besides myself and three passengers that I need to account for is firewood in the truck. I figure the other things that I normally haul in the truck will now be in the trailer instead. Bikes, cooler, etc.

You are going to need airbags at a minimum with a 2500 series spring package. Once you load up the trailer the pin is only going to increase from weight.

I see the debates on here about Airbags vs Supersprings. What is your take?

Unless you load all your stuff behind your rear axle of the 5th wheel then you will be over. Will your 2500 tow it ok probably but I think you will see a lot more people being pulled over to have their weight checked as it will generate more revenue for the state as I think their are a lot of people out there that are towing over their limits. Adding air bags or leaf springs will not increase the capacity number of the sticker in your door jam. I will use air bags only if it does not set level. Remember also most cargo capacity ratings are using a full tank of fuel and a 150 lb allowance for the driver so fo me I am adding 100lbs right off the bat.

Any chance that you, or any other 2016 BHFS owner also have a Dometic Ice Maker? I'm curious to know if it fits where the microwave used to sit in the outdoor kitchen, or does it fit inside the baggage compartment? I have one and really don't want to tie up the precious counter space on the kitchen counter.

Oh yeah....we just signed our paperwork and the order is officially placed on our new North Point 375 BHFS. Now the process of waiting begins for us as well!!!

LOL. I just tried to put my Magic Chef in the ODK yesterday and no go. The cabinet is about 13 inches above the raised counter and my oce maker is about 18.

It does fit nicely in my basement, but most of the time I just leave it on small folding table under my battery compartment door plugged into the outside outlet.

Enjoy.

I bought a 2015 375 bhfs in May. I am pulling with a 2006 F250 extended cab 6.0 diesel. I have no problem pulling the camper, but I did over heat the brakes on the truck after traveling through a congested traffic area. Thinking about upgrading the brakes and also curious about the airbags to level the truck. Love the camper so far!

Our order was officially placed on Saturday afternoon. We dealt with Seven Os in Kirkville NY just outside of Syracuse. It was a pleasure to deal with them and I was ecstatic that they beat the deal that Albany RV told me NO ONE can be beat. Arrogance is not a good characteristic when it comes to sales in my opinion.

Anyhow, we are fired up and looking forward to hopefully getting a few trips in before tucking her into bed for her long winter nap. They were saying probably about 10 weeks before delivery but they should know more at about the 6 week mark.

Any insight from anyone as to how long it took to get your special order?

I ordered the North Point in my sig from my local dealer on 4/8 and it was at the dealership on 6/8. I ordered as soon as dealer had options info and floor plans available. I like getting a 2016 so early in the camping year. We are really enjoying ours. I saw a new North Point being pulled by a transporter heading south on I-55 today.

I have another question for any 2016 North Point 375BHFS owners out there. How many roof vents are on this coach? I believe there are two FanTastic Vents. Do those come with covers already installed? The reason for my inquiry, my current TT has covers on all the vents. I know the FanTastic units need a special cover to maximize air flow. Just wondering if it would be advantageous to remove them for reinstall on our new unit.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
