Pin Box

Does anyone know who the manufacturer is for Jayco pin boxes? I have ordered an Eagle 30.5 and plan on getting a Superglide Hitch. I think The capture plate for the hitch has to match the pin box. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.

That's a MOR-Ride hitch in the photo.

The only way to be sure to get the correct capture plate is to measure the pin box on your trailer, or an identical trailer and call Pullrite. Measuring instructions, which are quite specific, are on the Pullrite site.

For my 2011 Jayco 28.5RLS fifth wheel, I measured the pin box (which was a Dexter pin) on a similar trailer and called Pullrite; they (at that time) did not have a capture plate made for that pin. What I ended up doing is ordering my trailer with a Mor-Ryde pin box, for which Pullrite did have a capture plate.

Keep in mind that you probably will want a capture plate that you can easily remove with hand tools on the side of the road, if your trailer ever has to be towed by someone else (like a wrecker). There are capture plate adapters that some wreckers carry, but maybe not the one that shows up.

Did you get an Revolution, Mor Ryde or stock pinbox?

Pin Box

I just ordered the stock one. Should I upgrade to the Mor Ryde? I can still make some changes to the order. Also, I have a Ford F250 CC 4x4. Should I be concerned with bed rail clearance?
Thanks for all the advise.

Since you are going with the Superglide I am would assume a shortbed truck? Personllay I would go with the Mor-ryde pin for the cushion. My friend has a 5th Airborne on his 30.5 and is happy with it too. Some cushion is always a plus IMHO. You could go with a Sidewinder and eliminate the Superglide but you will not have any cushion unless you get it in the hitch.

It's probaly best to contact Jayco directly and let them know what you are trying to match up to and the importance of the pin dimensions. They will most likely have one of the engineering team call you or respond via e-mail.

Excellent discussion.
Boatman, I'd like to hear what Jayco says and what you ultimately decide.

Pin Box

Ok. I made some calls. I called Jayco first. After some time they did find the Pin Box they use is a Lippert. They gave me a parts number. After no luck of matching that number for the capture plate, I called Lippert. Lippert gave me the parts number to use for the capture plate. it is #1621. I must say that both Jayco and Lippert were VERY helpful.

Send a message via AIM to scottfrechette
Becareful the superglide is not adjustable up or down (height) to help level your trailer..
