Pinnacle 38FLFS questions
Hi everyone, I am currently looking at purchasing a 2013 Pinnacle 38FLFS and am curious to see if anyone else has one with their thoughts as well as what they are towing it with. I have a 2009 Ford F-250 Super Duty crew cab short box with the 6.4L diesel, not sure how it will handle it.
Thanks

I don't know how it would handle, but I am almost sure you will be WAY over the GVWR for that truck

I agree that is a lot of trailer for a F250

Have 36 REQS Pinnacle pulled with 2011 Ford F350 6.7 and no problem. Too much weight for your truck. I replaced my F250 to purchase the Pinnacle.

I pull my 2013 36REQS with my 2012 Dodge 3500 Srw without any problem. I do have 19.5 Rickson wheels and 14 ply toyo tires. My previous 5th wheel a 34 ft hitchhiker DA with SRW 3500's Dodge, Ford and GMC's for the previous 10 years, was towed with E rated tires just fine. I would try towing your trailer with your current before you switch trucks, still might make sense to get a larger truck. Lots of wind and hills here in Wyoming and Colorado.

I have a 2013 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn (quad cab, long box, dually, Cummins diesel, auto trans, 3.71 gears). Pulls 38FLFS like a dream (13k+ dry, ~15k now with ~2.5k pin weight). I bought my truck after I bought my trailer and used the vehicle and trailer specification decide what I bought.

Way too heavy for that truck. When you are fully loaded, I'll bet you are close to the maximum weight ratings on a one ton dually.

We have a 2013 36KPTS Pinnacle and I wouldn't think of trying to pull it with a single rear wheel. Our 3500HD Dually pulls the 5er without any problems. Most of the people that I have spoken with all like the dually for towing. It is much more stable, better braking and you don't have to worry as much about exceeding the tow ratings. I know that some vehicles are more than capable of towing beyond what they are rated for, but in our litigious society, I wouldn't take a chance on towing a 5er that the truck was not rated to pull.

Merlin (OP) you OK???? Haven't heard from you since last July.
To answer your question on pulling a 2013 Pinnacle 38FLFS I much agree with the others.
