Plumbing ???'s

2008 299RLS, having difficulty with pressurizing the lines while dry camping. The pump is working properly, but air and water are spitting out of faucet(s). Local dealer suspects air leak somewhere between tank and pump, maybe at filter.
But where is the filter? Or . . . maybe one of the valves at the manifold is faulty/leaking. Anyhoo . . . there's an air leak somewhere and no water leaking anywhere.
Any chance of getting or downloading a plumbing schematic for my 5er?
Any other ideas?

It certainly sounds as if there is a leak some place in the suction line from the tank to the pump. My pump has a strainer, not a filter, on the suction line close to the pump. You could check the strainer, if you have one, for suction leaks; mine had a leak where the clear bowl screwed on to the base.

Do you have a winterizing connection? Its a short length of hose that can be put into a gallon of antifreeze to allow pumping antifreeze through your fresh water system. There is a valve on that hose and a valve on the suction hose that goes into your water tank. Is the valve to the winterizing hose closed and the valve to the suction line to the tank open? If those valves were not in the proper positions, your pump would suck air.

Check these things and let us know what happens.

X2 Sounds like it is on the suction side so the strainer/filter or valve to suction hose for winterizing. Good luck in your hunt. Makes life interesting and you learn so much!

Winter bypass is a common problem we see on JOF when owner is trying to use tank/ pump for the first time of the season. When winterized, the draw hose valve gets left open and sucks air.

Or you have a low point drain open.

The dealer suggested looking at the "winterizing" connection and I will. I will also inspect the screen "bulb". I have replaced it before. The valve controlling the winterization is part of the manifold but will not leave any stone unturned. Thanks all! Will let you know.

The suction hose for winterizing would be my first guess. Second would be loose fittings at the water pump on the suction side.
