Premium paint on 2016 Pinnacle

I have been reading some post in various forums concerning some Jayco units having problems with the paint on the front and rear caps. Most seem to be with the dark brown color used a lot on the Eagle fifth wheels.

Just wondering if anyone has heard if Jayco has corrected the problem or is working on it?

We are considering ordering a 2016 Pinnacle with the premium paint and would sure like to know if the fading problem has been solved. The dark color on the front cap of the Pinnacle with the premium paint makes me wonder if there might be a problem.

Any thoughts?

We have a 2013 Eagle Premier that had the paint problem on the front cap. Jayco took care of it as soon as we realized we had a problem. I don't think the newer models from Jayco have this problem.

They were not painted, it was the Brown Gel-coat that was causing the issue. It was a problem seen by other companies as well, not just JAYCO. They painted the ones that faded to fix the problem.

We had our RV cap repainted under warranty the brown as the original color. The paint with a good clear coat should hold up very well. I had a black fiberglass car for over ten years with no fade problems. If I had ordered my RV I would elect the premium paint.

I have premium paint on my 2015 36KTPS pinnacle (very first 2015). I took delivery in February 2014. The dark paint on the front cap gets hot to touch in the sun. I wash and wax the trailer once a year and the front cap 4 times a year. No fading yet. I really like the looks of the paint job and no decal peeling worries.

I thought that was the purpose of the paint was to get rid of Gel Coat paint. The caps that are fading are color infused fiberglass.

The Jayco factory paint is full body, incuding the white.

We have a 2014 Eagle 5th wheel and so far no fading. I just had an RV shed put up so hopefully, I won't have any. Washed it real good a couple times a year so looking good so far. Went by my dealer and he had a couple 2014's sitting on the lot that are having the fading problem. But of course they are sitting out in the direct sun all the time. We have been camping at least one week each month for the past two years and we get in shady spots. Maybe that has made a difference!
