Progress

We got a progress report from the dealer this week. Our new 27.5 RLTS is scheduled to be completed and ready to ship on May 12th. Just over 2 weeks.

And it's been confirmed that it will be a 2017. Even better.

Now, I just have to get a 5th wheel put in my truck and figure out a front rack for our kayaks.

Do a search on the Forest River forum. There's a few really nice fifth wheel / kayak rack over the truck set ups there. Some homemade that are far better than store bought.

Some pretty good threads/pictures on here too. I actually have the front portion of the rack pretty well planned out in my head. My TV is also my plow truck. So, I am going to fab up a front hitch that bolts into the ears for the snow plow and run a load extender vertically to support the yaks at the front. At the rear, plan "a" was to tie the yaks down to the Trac-rac at the front of the bed. But the rack is to far back (12'6" from the front bumper - yaks are 13') and it's going to eat up some swing clearance. So, the existing bar and plow lights will need to come off during camping season. Not a big deal and it lets my toolbox slide forward another 3-4" allowing it to stay in the bed with the fifth wheel.
