Propane issue

I own a 2016 jayco 27.5 RLTS eagle HT. Having an issue with the propane, definitely gas in the tanks but stove won't light, never mind the fridge. i know you have to bleed the lines of air but can't even do that. Any ideas?

Regulator could be locked out or faulty.

Try turning everything off, then VERY SLOWLY, open the propane valve.

Propane

Is the RV and tanks new?
I believe they only put a small amount of propane in New tanks the first time.
Used ours one time to preheat water heater and next time tank was empty. This was probably only 30 minute of use.

I found this video on youtube which apart from the music is informative on how they work.

Shut off the propane at the bottle. Disconnect one of the incoming fittings under the trailer, or at an appliance (water heater and fridge connection should be accessible from outside, where you have ventilation). Have someone slowly open bottle, and see if any propane comes out.

I had a regulator Ona previous unit go bad on the third trip out, so age may not be a factor...

it works!

well, i disconnected the line behind the fridge, turned the tanks on and the regulator turned red which i couldn't get it to do before and propane was coming out of the hose. i put the hose back on and now everything works. i suppose the regulator was 'locked up' but not sure how it got that way. thanks for the help

It doesn't take much to lock them up. Some seem more sensitive than others. Like others have said have to open them VERY slowly..

Now that you disconnected a gas line, you need to make sure you reseal the threads. Make sure to use yellow Teflon tape or pipe dope. Not the whiye Teflon tape. You do not want a slow gas leak.

When I have this issue. I turn off the tanks. Sometimes I'll disconnect them. Then go in and try to light the stove. I'm really only taking the pressure off the line. I may wait 15 minutes or so. To ensure the valve has released. Turn the gas back on really slowly. Light the stove and then turn on the other items.
