Pullrite super 5th hitch question

Does anyone have this hitch? We are trying to decide which hitch to buy for our F250 to pull a jayco superlite 30.5RLS. Our dealer has a pullrite super 5th hitch (used only twice) that he can give me a deep discount on. He suggested that I research the hitch then left him know if I would like to have it. I have read good things about pull rite (especially the superglide) but we don't need a slider. Any thoughts you can give me on this hitch would be appreciated....

Thanks,

Matt, would you mind if I ask you how long your truck bed is on your silverado? I don't think we need a slider, but not 100% sure. Does the pullrite make for a smooth ride?

thanks!

Is it Pullrite that you need a specific plate for your 5er? And you can only use the hitch on your 5er?

Never thought about that - good questions. I will ask about the specific plate. This is a used hitch so I would imagine it can be used on various 5ers. Original owner traded in his 5th wheel after falling down the stairs of it so the dealer has this hitch he can give us a deep discount on.

If the hitch will work for your application, what difference does it make if it's a slider or not. We have had the same slider hitch in the last three TVs we have owned, even though we have used it one time so far in the last two. We just took it out of the old TV when we bought new and had it transplanted into the new one. If the discount is deep enough, I think you should go for it, especially if the used one is less than a non-slider.

I had the PullRite SuperGlide in my 2006 K1500 Chevy Crew Cab short bed(5.7"), towing a 30' fifth wheel. This hitch slide back 23-3/4" in turns automatically. It worked very well. Had plenty clearance between truck cab and front cap of 5er.
So much that I installed a bike rack on the 5er Pin Box.

Its a short bed (extended cab) The slider gives a very smooth ride. You may at times need to adjust the stop bolt as everything wears in but once that is done the slide works flawless. You can remove the special plate with one small set screw & then use any hitch to pull the RV with.

Thanks, Matt. Our truck bed is 6 ft. 9 in. & have been told that we won't need a slider hitch. This hitch I am talking about is not a slide it is the pullrite super 5th. Is your truck bed shorter than 6 ft 9 in?

thanks,
Josie

I use the Pullrite Sliding hitch in my 6'4" RAM bed.
A local welding shop installed the hitch and also modified the universal capture plate for super easy removal.

I love this setup.
Here are some pictures of the capture plate:

When I bought the 1997 Jayco RBS 277, I used a Pull Rite Super 5th to haul it with my 2002 Chevy HD Duramax 2500 short box Crew cab. Started out with a 97 Chevy Z-71 3 door. short box. The 350 was shy on power.
It pulled great! Wasn't a slider, but it would tilt. (rock left to right) Went to a Jayco Granite Ridge MH 3100ss due to heath reasons. The RBS277 was a great unit.
Great camping with it! If you have a good reliable dealer that helps a bunch! PS: Keeping the Duramax!

We also use the Pullrite easyglide on our Ram 6.4 bed and we love it. Works great.
