Rear axle side movement.

Last summer on my trip to upstate NY my left rear tire hit the lower inside of my kitchen slide. Tire is fine but inside of slide the thin metal wrap wore thru (no biggie to fix). I noticed it on my gas stop in GA when I did my walk around. I completely sealed the under side seams with silicone and a piece was hanging down between the tires and that is how I seen the rub mark. This has happened a few more times in 4k miles and I though maybe a weak leaf spring.

CW had my rig for three months and waited until I had to move into it to even look at the problem. Sitting in the shop you could see the rear axle was over to the left maybe 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. They raised the trailer looked over the suspension and said all was good that it is normal play in the moride set up. I said BS. They were adamant that in a sharp turn will move the axle slightly when the rubber bushings flex and that was when contact was made turning on a sharp incline like going onto a raised driveway. When I picked it up it was perfectly straight but in there shop it was over and they said it was because they turned backing it in. My site is dirt and I cannot jack up the hole trailer to look stuff over. All looks straight now but with slide closed you can see if the tire moves way up it will rub on the side wall.

Here is my question. Has anyone noticed when turning the trailer if you stop mid turn has one of the axles moved slightly left or right? I can see the morride system flexing up and down (maybe a tad left an right). I still think I have a weak leaf spring and the rub took place hitting interstate bumps and not turning. We all know how smooth some highways are but nothing should rub.

I think you are justifiably concerned. I've never seen an axle move left or right enough to be noticeable with the naked eye. I'm not an axle expert though. Have you called Jayco directly?

Jayco knows that is a pending item along with my roof issues. Between a rock and hard place when you are full timing till late summer.

Rock I have seen some people really jack their trailer hard when backing in some spots. Sometimes the one tire will look all messed up leaning in or out, like something wrong with suspension until trailer is moved more one direction or the other. Have seen this a number of times.
