I have the factory supplied version that slides in when not in use. I am going to add those end supports for more bike stability but they have worked well for years.

As someone posted, there is a LOT of movement back there on rough roads. Make sure whatever you put on there is strapped down very well. I've had full ammo boxes go 'airborne' in the back of my trailer.

After hearing some horror stories about stress breaks, I took mine off and to a local hitch shop and had it reinforced with some square steel stock. I feel much better using it now even though I never had a problem.
