Replace main or both thermostats with digital?

So it looks like a popular mod is to replace the analog thermostats with the Coleman digital. For those with 2 AC's did you replace just the main or both? There is a digital for AC only but it's out of stock at the place with the best prices. I'm guessing I could use the same as main and just know that heat setting won't do anything.

After installed have you noticed a difference in keeping temperature or is more of no longer feeling like you're back in the 70's with analog?

I replaced both of them. The one in the bedroom with the 8330-3462 Cool Only Thermostat. This way you will know what the temp is in both areas. When in heat mode the one in the bedroom let's you know what the actual temp is in the bedroom. My bedroom was several degrees warmer so I ended up replacing the floor register with one with a damper so I could shut it down. I have not had a chance to run the AC's yet.
The digitals are nice in that you know where you are at.

Coleman-Mach

I replaced it also. Very easy install, just match the wires. Better control of temperature. However, the placement of the thermostat is directly opposite the front door so with the door open and sun light coming in,The A/C will run. I am looking at making a reflective cover as an experiment.

I called and they have both in stock even though their website says out for the AC only. I ended up buying both for $109 and they ship priority mail for free.

That's good to know, but I have a spare in case mine ever goes out downstairs.

Where did you buy your floor register with a damper? That single register does blast you in the bedroom being wide open.

Thanks for the register link.

I received my thermostats and instead of black AC only I got a white AC/heat. I called Makarios and the guy said that Coleman discontinued the AC only digital a while ago. They are going to send me a 2nd AC/heat black and prepaid label to return to the white one.

I'll be placing a sizable order through RVupgrades, a heat/cool digital thermostat is on that list.
