Replacement tires

I'm looking to replace the tires on my 29.5 BHDS. I have 2 year old tow max with unknown mileage (I purchased used). I'm considering the Maxis, or the Good Year Endurance. Are the Good Year tires as good? I like the increase in speed rating, not that I run that fast, but I do exceed the 65 mph rating of the st tires when approaching steep hills.
On my boat trailer I had two good years marathons blow out, 1 Carlisle blow out and 1 Carlisle develop a soft ball size blister on the outside as well as the inside.
Just don't want a repeat of this!

You need a good 10 ply tire on any trailer being pulled. I have 10 plies on all my trailers, funny thing I can't remember the brand and I'm not at home right now to check. I'll have to get back on that.
Happy tire hunting!!

I replaced my OEM Ranier LR D's with a set of Maxxis LR E's and have been very happy with them. They lost no air over the winter lay up and seem to be holding up very well so far. I have about 3,500 miles on them now...

Has anyone run some higher mileage on the new Goodyears? How well are they handling the abuse of roads and weather?

Switched to Maxxis 3 seasons ago and very happy. I would consider the GY since they are made in the USA and the only current available made in the USA option.

The only downside on the GY is lack of use history as mentioned above.

I've got the new GY's on my RV and just completed a 2800 mile trip without problems. Like them so far.

Running the GY "G" rated tires on a 2017 Pinnacle. Just under 4800 miles and all is well. They handle very well with the weight I am carrying.

I run the G614 Goodyears on my 2011 Eagle. No problems after 3 years of towing many miles.

The Endurance tires have not been in use long enough IMO to make a determination of longevity.

I'm running Maxxis M8008 LR E as well that replaced a set of Towmax that had a busted tread. No problems, they hold air very well, and have an extensive and positive in-service record. When they time out, I will replace with same.

Bought them from Discount Tire Direct's Ebay store on sale, had them shipped to my door and had a local, independently owned shop install them.

Ours never even left the dealers lot with the Raniers. I had a set of Maxxis shipped in before our PDI and they swapped them out.

Interesting find this morning after installing new tires. Three of the four towmax tires had a distinct blue line right where a tread separation occurs. One of the three looked fine. Two were definitely worse and a third looked better but not by much. Tread wear was measured and was even on all four tires.

The towmax tires sidewall was very soft when compared to the Good Year Endurance tires, the GY are one load range higher which accounts for some of the difference in sidewall deflection.

My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS came with the new US made Goodyear tires. So far no issues. I have over a thousand miles on them since April 26th of this year. Early to tell yet. I air them to the max spec of 80. They seem to be a promising tire but only time will tell as they are new on the market.

The Good Years on paper are awesome, us manufactured, higher speed rating, I guess time will tell if they are superior. They outweigh the comparable towmax tires by 5 pounds, hopefully that added weight is a stronger tire.
