Roof maintenance treatment

Looking for advice on annual roof maintenance treatment. Seems to be a lot of brands out there but just looking for advice from the experience in this forum. Thanks in advance......

from what I've always been told, there is not real maintenance. It's just important to climb on the roof, and check it regularly and add lap sealant if it's needed. clean or dirty doesn't make a difference for water leaks.

Roof Maintenance

One thing we have noticed a lot of folks using Etanbond tape to seal all vent locations vs DICOR or other sealants. Think we will do that this fall for our 16 Eagle. Not sure that's the correct spelling of the tape!Looks like a real permanent fix.

I did that with the Eternabond tape over the original Dicor, but I still get on the roof a couple times a season to check for damage

Here is a link from the Dutchman website that is a few years old but has some good information on the care and maintenance of a EPDM roof.

I've started doing this.

Suggestion if you do it, put a thin line of Dicor self-leveling lap seal along the edges of the Eternabond tape. This will help from the edges of the tape getting loaded with dirt and stuff. I got this tip from a friend.

I just did maintenance on my roof, being an older model I didn't want to take any chances. I cleaned mine with Spic and Span powder( Alpha recommended) which I had to get off Amazon since the stores didn't carry it. I used Eternabond on the seams, did my corner moldings with the Dicor corner seal tape. All edges of the tape on the the roof got the Dicor lap sealant the self leveling type. I also redid a patch the previous owner did with Eternabond. Very happy with the results. Proper cleaning is key to any roof maintenance, also be careful. I have heard of people working on RV roofs and back up and fall right over the edge. Also with Eternabond if you do use it,PLAN out where it is going down, I used masking tape the painters kind to lay down a border to be sure the Eternabond was in a straight line, once you stick the Eternabond down you can't pull it back up again.
