Running and brake light question

When I apply my brakes all my LED brake and running lights come on, and when I use the turn signals all the amber and red running lights flash on the side the turn signal in on. Is this normal ?

I'd say not normal. If your TT is new I'd let the dealer sort it out. If it's pre-owned a PO may have made some "mods".

If your truck didn't come with a trailer plug from the factory, then there is a very good chance it is miswired.

Also, remember that all newer trucks require a converter in the circuit to the trailer plug, because the automakers separated the stop and turn signals long ago.

Definitely not normal. Some additional info will help to get you an answer. Tow Vehicle, Trailer year / Model etc.

Sounds like you may have a bad ground.

Easy enough to determine if the problem is on the Trailer or Tow Vehicle. Look up the pinout for the 7 wire harness on the internet (lots of good pictures available). Use a short piece of wire to jump the 12V pin on the trailer to each of the light circuits in turn. If only the correct lights come on then your trailer wiring is okay. If you get the weird effects, then there is a problem in the TT wiring.
I suspect the problem is more likely at the TV end though. You can use a multimeter to see if the only the correct circuits are being energized when they should be.
Either way, finding wiring issues like this can be a pain if the wires getting crossed in a hidden space. Have fun chasing it down!

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra with a factory 7 pin plug with no issues on other trailers and I also tried by friends 2018 Ford 250 super duty with the same results. Sounds like a trip to a dealer. Could it be the LED bulb set up ?

Not going to be because the lights are LED. The problem sounds as if the is a wiring issue with the TT or a bad ground on the TT trailer lights.

Update, after a few calls to the factory and a visit to a service center it was determined that all the LED lights on the with the brake lights and the corresponding lights come on with the turn signals. This is normal and correct on the 2018's with LED lights.

I like the idea. Must be the way they are trying to conform with DOT regs requiring 3rd brake light and turn signals midway on trailers.

Ditto! I don't have the time to list all the bad ground stories I have been involved in.
