RV Cover

Since I leave in MN and I don't use my 5er from November until April, I am looking into a cover for the unit (2013 26.5 RLS). Any one have suggestions on any of them. I have never used a cover before. I have in the past put a tarp over it but am not happy with that. Would like something that fits nice. Something that would not move and scratch the rv do to the wind and long period of being covered.

We cover out TT with an Adco from CW, on its fifth season in NY state. They now sell a brand called Elements, but am not familiar with that brand yet. You can get on their website for proper measuring procedure, and it'll fit pretty well. Don't go by the manufacturer's brochure length, it may be off some.

The Elements brand covers suck! I made the mistake of buying one last year. Tough to install. No reinforcing at the corners. Some small tears occurred during install.

It did, however, include little socks for the gutter spouts and throwing weights for getting the straps under the RV.

This winter will be the final of 2 winters for that cover.

Gonna go good one next year.

Mike, do you have the Elements All Climate or the Elements Premium All Climate?

I'm hoping I have better luck than you did. I just bought one and paid a little more for the Elements Premium All Climate Cover.

OP this will be my first cover and still have another trip, so I can't comment on how it fits...

That's a shame. I only guessed at CW changing brands 'cause they were cheaper. I'm gonna have to find a source for the next cover. I appreciate the heads up, before I make a mistake.

Definitely not the 'premium' version. Whatever was in the stack on the floor at the end of September last year. We stopped in at CW with the TT (we were returning from the FOTA weekend) and had them measure for correct fit.

Next year's cover purchase will have more research too. Quality of fabric and proper sizing will be the priorities. They are sized only by length. The roof portion of the cover fit my roof "a bit snug" from side-to-side. That's where the tears came in. Trying to get the side curtains over the edge and lowered needed too much tugging.

Mike, our model seem a little taller than some, and our cover has the "a little short on the sides" syndrome. Googling "RV cover" seems to bring up a plethora (my word of the day) of cover sites. If you UPS me a bushel of 50's, I'll do all you research for 'ya!!

Glad to read that you would not use a tarp again. That is a recipe for all sorts of moisture problems.

If I had a bushel basket of $50's, I'd hire you and the rest of crew to build a heated garage. No cover nor winterizing needed!

Remember a googleplex (where the name Google come from) is 1 followed by one hundred zeros. I dunno, 'plethora' seem to fall kinda short of the overwhelming mess Google seems to deliver...

I'll send up a flare when I finish filling the basket. Right now there are zero $50's in the basket I don't have.

I have never had an eventful cover, but have been told that when it's windy it will rub back and forth and eventually wear thru paint etc.
Don't know if this is true or not.

This will be the fifth year of covering our TT, and no wear issues on it yet. The points on the cover itself that touch something like the tv antenna, or gutter extensions are showing wear, but there's six straps that go underneath, and two on the front, and back to cinch it and take up the slack. Ours is parked on the west side of the house, so it does get the wind, but once the snow piles up on top it's pretty still. Just my .02 worth.

Did not have a cover on the stored outside First TT. After 7 yrs insurance co said it was a write off and no $ because damage was a 'matenance issue'.

New TT has a cover.

Just my story. Dave.

I have been searching and have come up with three options that look to be ok.
My first choice is the Carver RV Cover (Carver Covers – Better Covers. Better Service.)
Second - ADCO designer series (https://www.adcoprod.com/)
Third - Camco UltraGuard (UltraGuard Class C/Travel Trailers Covers - Camco)

Question for the forums. Any one have any experience with any of these brands/models?

I have the ADCO All Climate Wind Designer Series. This is the second season using that cover and so far it has been working well. I use some foam strips to cover where the rain gutters stick out and have not noticed any excessive wear yet. I used ADCO's sizing tool to determine which P/N to get and bought directly from ADCO during a sale they had at the time.
