Calgon Water Softner is a liquid that you can get at WalMart, Walgreens, Amazon and other places. It's sometimes hard to find. It makes the water in your tank "slick". The thought process is that things like toilet paper and other "matter" will not stick to the sides and sensors as easily. I use one capfull in every tank just after I dump, then add one Enzyme tablet and two gallons of water. Does it work? It does for me .

Thanks Skip! I just bought 3-32 oz bottles of the Calgon Water Softner for my black tank $6 each at Wally World. Now one more question. Some people say to also use some laundry soap if that is true how much should I put in?

This is what I use as an enzyme tablet. I haven't used laundry soap so I can't comment on that but have heard of folks who do use it. Many methods out there...most work.
