We got one from Camping World and it seems to be working well for us. It's made up of vinyl straws, and we tore a few strands over sharp rocks. But, it's easy to clean and put away. It came with a velcro strap handle.

I second the woven plastic straw type.

We used outdoor astroturf carpeting for years and it was always a mess after the third or so trip.

The woven plastic straw type is easy to clean, dries quickly, doesn't hold sand (large stone won't pass through ) or pine needles. I have a couple of them and we use them all the time.

I think there pretty much all the same. We have one from CW and one from Wal-Mart (that we bought when we realized the CW one had been left at home). The CW model folds a little bit nicer than the one from WM, but paid about 30$ more for it.

If either were destroyed, lost, stolen or otherwise. I would immediately go replace them with similar.

We have the woven plastic straw one as well. Bought ours at Costco, they seem to have stock in spring only, so may already be gone, but saw some there last week at our store. Limited choice of color, but a lot cheaper than buying at CW.

Ours works great. I just sweep ours, roll it, and bungee it to the TT bumper for travel. Hose it off every fall after the season before storing away. Still looks fine after 3 years of duty.

Big fan of the woven plastic straw type. I have also used the astro-turf type in the past and after a few trips out with some weather they kind of fell apart. I bought mine from Camping World. I think it is a 16'. Would love to upgrade to a 20' one.

I, too, use a pair of the CW "plastic straw" type. I also use a small (4'x6') door mat at the base of stairs, on top of the mat, so that folks can wipe their feet before going in the trailer. Picked it up very cheap at one of those "bargain basement closeout" stores, figuring that it if I got 3 or 4 seasons out of it, I was good.... It's on it's third trailer! (12 or 13 years!)

Thank you for your responses, probably get one from Walmart it's about $73.00 unless anyone has seen one for less.

We opted for the 20' foot mat only so we didn't have to anchor down two shorter mats with our new longer tt (matter of preference).

Check the pics below. It's a 20' but we folded it down to fit the smaller space available due to a permanent bbq taking up the area.

Our next cg we will be able to fold out the whole 20'

[purchased on sale at Camping World.... chose the color we did because it matched our new tt. check this ad

I have a 21 ft awning. I bought two 12 foot patio mats as I won't always need the full size and being a bit smaller they are easier to handle.

I bought them off Amazon for around $30 each

We bought two of those from Camping World and they were not $70 but less than that. We have been using ours for 3 to 4 years and they work very well.

Just looked online at Camping World and the prices have gone up since I bought ours!

We have 2- 9'x12' mats from Walmart. Have held up pretty well the 3 seasons we have had them. Only issue is they don't match our 32 we bought last July!!! Lol Oh well, we may get a new set that does. Do wish we had a storage bag to help keep the pass through cleaner as some dirt does stick if a little damp or wet. But as mentioned dry stuff falls right off these newer style mats.

We probably will go with 2 again due to being a little easier to handle. And at times we may only put one may out due to the site: more grass at the site, obstacles, etc.

.
Our previous mat was purchased at a Walmart in 2010. That mat must've had at least 8 months of wear and tear over the six years we owned the 2010 Jay Flight. Even over rocks and pebbles, it held up well.

Love how these mats have the creases to make folding up a breeze. We usually keep it in the bed of truck against the cab for the trip home or to the next c/g, but a storage bag would otherwise be nice

We did 'outdoor carpet' as well with our first camping experience many years back; ugh. Learned fast that it didn't fold back up easily like the current outdoor mats, and didn't wick moisture away when it rained.

Glad we had a forum like this to learn about the all-weather reversible mats that are easy-peezy for maintenance, fold down to compact sized, that can be purchased locally as well as online

I gotta agree with Denise on this one...We have 2 of the foldable mats from Walmart. The older one is 3 years old and still going strong. Very easy to fold up and put away.

We tried every type outdoor mat out there, and hated all of them short of building a temporary deck which obvoiusly for us who venture out routinely is not an option. We stumbled across the woven straw 8x 20 checkered flag mat at a nascar race. We actually bought ours off amazon, made by Meng, Chinese but so far it works. It gets full of mud, grass, beer, red wine and everything else spilled on it but I t gets pressured washed few times a year. Honestly this is our first one, going on it fifth season and still looks good except where some grass stains didn't come out. I don't think there's another option better for weekenders.

If you have a Camping World nearby, they have a patio mat storage bag for $12.99. Works great for a 9X12 mat, very roomy and seems to be well made.
