Sap issues
We have a 2 month old Eagle Super Lite 29.5RKS. We have a couple of spots where sap is leaking from under the cabinets. One of the spots leaks right on to one of the swivel rockers (very messy).
Anyone else have this problem? If so, how long did it last? I'm assuming that this is a temporary problem.
Thanks,
Tom

Never heard that one. If it is coming from a knot, some solvent may remove it.
Maybe a call to the dealer may shed some light.

Tom, I am with Norty on this one. Are you suggesting that adhesive is leaking onto the chair? If you could attach a picture of the area it is leaking from, that would make a difference. Nothing should be leaking from a cabinet anywhere. The only leak thing I have heard about is one coming from the air conditioner when it has rained really hard. Some have had issues where the gasket needs to be tightened down more, having compressed from the weight of the AC. Other than that Jayco and other trailer companies have been very careful in limiting the glues and adhesives in newer trailers. Matter of fact our trailer had no smell of formaldehyde or other products.

This is definitely tree sap from the lumber the the cabinets are built with. Not able to take pictures because I cleaned it up again.
If it does it again I will take pictures before cleaning.

Must be part of Jayco's 'CERTIFIED GREEN' process. After all they are going out of their way to promote how environmentally friendly they operate. Hope you got a good discount for drying the wood for them....... not sure why I'm joking cause I have a unit coming from them.

I'm surprised Jayco, or anyboby else, would use lumber that was green enough to still contain sap. By green I mean not fully dried out as opposed to being environmentally friendly.

Call Jayco tell them what is going on and ask them to approve replacement but you will need to email a picture so next time get the camera before cleaning it up. You should have no issue after that. Dealers will say just live with it so go to jayco directly and then go to your dealer with the approval from Jayco in hand.

Tom, Our lite 29.5 is a couple of months older than yours and i haven't found any places on our cabinets that this is happening. Is it just on one cabinet?

Yep just one bank of cabinets. I'm hoping it will dry up before too long.

Take the photos to protect yourself, document how many times you have cleaned it up, call the dealer and notify them of the problem and ask for their resolution.
Then wait to see what the dealer says and if needed contact Jayco.
Any contact with the Dealer or Jayco should be in writing by mail or email. Faster response and documented. You can send this to each at the same time and makes them accountable to you and each other.
Good luck on the resolution.

If it does it again I would take it to the dealer. The bottom line of companies "going green" is to save them money. I certainly didn't buy our trailer because of the "green" sticker by the door.
