Satellite Dish

Can someone tell me if the Pinnacle is prewired for roof satellite? In the process of purchasing a 2011 and I am wondering if Jayco provided this during manufacturing? My 2004 Designer was prewired.

Thanks! Dave A

Jayco will send you a wiring schematic if you request one.

I appreciate the response back. Guess I will have to stick with the portable one? Thanks again for the help!

That's easy. Get an 18" round dish and tripod. Take one of your receivers from home and you're ready to go for next to nothing.

X2...... the only issue will be when you get outside you "home" viewing area you lose your local channels.ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. Also if you have all HD boxes you need to reprogram the box for the 18" dish.

Once I went with HD I couldn't go back to SD so I have a Slimline dish. Look around for someone that is moving. DirecTV says to take your receiver when you move and leave the dish so ask the people moving if you can get their dish since DirecTV most always installs a new dish for the new owners anyway. You could also look aroun for a DirecTV truck and see if the driver has one he would give you or for a small price. I have a tripod system from tv4rv.com and it makes setting up very easy. The quality is excellent and I have had mine for 4 years and I use it full time.

I have DirecTV's DNS service primarily so I don't have to reprogram my DVR's for different channels when I move. The programming is always right and worth the extra monthly cost to me.

I also have the tripod purchased from tv4rv and the large slimline dish. Would not be without it. I have been using direct TV for years so even get local channels when setting up in the southeast. Of course they are my local channels and not the local channels from the area we are camping in.
Question for you EdAtlanta, what is DNS???

You could always take advantage of Camping World's $39 installation ad!

namusmc65,

DNS is DirecTV's Distant Network Service. If your billing address is east of the Mississippi River you get your network channels from New York City, if west of the Mississippi you get Los Angeles. You always have network channels every time you aim your antenna and they are always the same channel numbers thus no reprogramming of your favorite programs. The cost is $15.00/month, but well worth it for me. The DNS channel numbers start at 390.
