I have noticed a few people with SRW 3/4 and 1 ton with this Rv. How are the king pin weights stacking up against payload capacity and GAWR?

The F250 and F350 have the same rear axle, I believe 6,000lbs.

F350 has a 6900lb rear axle and a 6000lb Front axle. At least on mine.

We picked our 355MBQS up a few weeks ago.

I have a 2003 GMC 2500.
With the 355MBQS loaded for a trip (and including the wife, 2 kids, and the dog), I am right at 500lbs over the GVWR for my truck.

Sticker on the trailer lists the unloaded pin at 2195lbs.

That being said, I am under on both rear and front axle. (Even under the rear axle with the stock 245/75 r16 tire loading. I have 265/75 r16s on the truck). I have air bags on the truck, but it sits level with the unloaded 8psi in the bags. I air up to 20-25 when towing as the ride seems smoother.

All that being said, the truck tows the camper very well. Feels stable and stops very good for 20,000lbs. Much better than the 11,000lb 35' TT it replaced.

This is the biggest 5th that I would tow with the current truck as i feel I am pretty near the max load-out.

I see folks with 43' toy haulers and a SRW 2500 and just can't imagine 16,000lbs behind a 2500. Ours is right at 13,500 loaded.

A couple of pics on our way home from the dealer:

Thanks for posting some real world numbers. That is always helpful.

The rig looks great. Were really excited for ours to show up. Especially to have a place where we can all get together out of the rain and not be tripping over each other. That living room shot looks great.

I will admit, I was wondering how the truck would do being older, and near max payload. Was revealed when I started the tow how smooth and relaxed the experience was.

I hope to scale the unit again on a CAT scale when we are loaded for 10+ days at the beach. Will be somewhat heavier I'm sure.

Those weights above were obtained by weighing my truck with the family on board at a trip to the dump. Truck was 7100lbs. I added 50 for the dog. 7150lbs.

Then using the placard on the unit and adding 200lbs for batteries and propane. That puts me at 9545lbs GVWR. My truck stickers at 9200lbs GVWR.

I imagine I will be near 9900lbs GVW when loaded fully in the 5th.

The 3500 in my truck has one extra leaf and the 265/75 r16 tires from the factory. RAWR 6800lbs. Mine is 6084, due to the 245/75 r16 tire rating. The 3500 SRW has a GVWR of 9900lbs.

All that being said, I am comfortable up to the 9900lbs GVW on my truck with the added mods. Some may not be, but I am. I don't have $65-70K for a new truck.

A few more pics follow. I hear the floor plan had some pretty major changes for 2017. (Loft over bunk room, No lower bunk in the room, just J-Cubes, Pocket Door for the bath.) I would love the pocket door, but like the bunk room as it is. Would like to see the difference in pictures when someone gets a 2017, though!
