Shopping Experiences for 5er

Well I didn't realize shopping for a used 5th wheel would be so hard. From private sales to dealers it has been interesting. We are on a budget of about 15 to 20 k and I guess that is part of the problem but I find it interesting that dealers want about 5k more than nada average sales price when most of the 5th wheels were not average with a multitude of issues from the awning totally rotted to curtains that don't work to roof vents cracked or missing. Then you go to the private sector which I found 1 or 2 units that were taken care of but 5 to 7 over book. We wanted to go from our 2005 25rks bumper pull in excellent condition to a 5er but finding a decent unit has been a pain. My son gave when a was looking and just but a new one. Rant over.

thanks,

It takes time. You'd be surprised how many people are impulse buyers. It took 4 years for my girlfriend and I to find a new trailer to suit our needs. Once we did, it took us four months before we actually ordered it. I spent that time researching everything on it. From the AC units to the bathroom vent fan.

Everyone likes to throw their prices high to allow for haggling.

Earl

What age/size/floor plan are you looking for? We're looking to sell our 2006 Jayflight 27.5 RLS. It's in decent condition and a nice size for a couple. We're near Phoenix. PM for details.

I have a buddy selling a coachmen chaparral bunk model because he never uses it. It's a 2013 279bhs for 23k.

thanks,
OK, so make an offer. Most dealers and a lot of people expect to have to bargain, so they list high. If you know the NADA price and can judge the trailer condition reasonably well, just make an offer.
