Shower/water pump

When taking a shower in our 14 375 BHFS the water pump will cycle on and off...which in turn the water will go from hot to cold. The pump runs for roughly 3 seconds (hot water) then turns off for 2 seconds (cold water)...this continues the whole time. BUT when we run the sink and toilets the pump will run continuous on either hot or cold ? Am I missing something here?...anyone have this issue ?...any insight to this is much appreciated because lets just say its not the best experience getting cleaned up

Welcome, nice unit! An expansion tank will help resolve this issue. You will want to pick up a 2 gallon FDA potable water expansion tank to install on the pressure side of the pump. This will allow the pump to work longer and not cycle with the pulse pressure you get from the pump during regular use. I have one in my house awaiting install and had done this mod on my 365 BHS. The picture below is of the 365 mod I did a few years back. It is a very easy mod and you simply will need to remove the water filter panel to gain access to this area for install.

It will require a Tee fitting, hose clamps and about 2ft of 1/2" water hose. The clear or white with reinforcement I suggest. Once you put this in the pump will cycle for longer but then not come on until the pressure drops below the pump kick in setting then cycle to only fill the expansion tank and off again. I took showers without much of the hot cold cycling after this mod.

It's never going to be as good as city pressure, but is a marked improvement. Plus the pump won't kick on the middle of the night if someone flushes.

I did the same thing to ours and it greatly improved the shower as well as the whole water system performance. I feel well worth the time and money.

Not mentioned....the expansion tank is most effective when installed IN FRONT of the water supply split off to the Hot Water Heater
