Simmons Residential Mattress sag

We just purchased a 2017 Jayco HT 28.5rsts in December and are spending two months in California. It's a great rig, except for the Simmons Residential Mattress. Only one person (160 lbs) sleeps on it, and within the first month, there is a sag in the middle. Anyone else have this problem with this mattress?

Funny, in 2016 people complained how their Denver mattress sagged. This year it looks like the same mattress, different label.

BTW - We camped 52 nights last year and didn't have any sagging problems with our 2016 Denver mattress.

... and people complained about their 2015 Denver mattress sagging. Under warranty they reinforced our sagging plywood base , but didn't replace the sagging/uncomfortable mattress.

The mattress.

We had a Jayco Superlite for 8 years, lived in it a total of 13 months, and the mattress was like new when we traded it.

There have been many, many threads here on JOF regarding OEM mattresses. The mattresses they provide, no matter what the supposed brand, are junk IMO.
If a good mattress is important to you, replace it. We replaced ours without ever sleeping on it once. All I had to do was sit on it to know it wasn't going to work. Some folks add toppers, some folks just replace it.

The"Simmons" mattress is a piece of crap. Firest it is made under license for Simmons. We had to replace our mattress last year after using a little over 2 months. Jayco did replace it under warranty. We only had a chance to use a couple of times. It was replaced with same type of mattress. We did put a topper on it so we will see how it works out. Not holding my breath though.

In our 16 Eagle MSRP sticker says Denver Pillow Top. A company Michianna made a knock off dead look alike $599.00 Denver for sale on Amazon. Sells it to Jayco bet not for $100 bucks and its garbage. Trying to get Jayco to replace it with the real mattress now!

The Simmon's mattresses in all the 2017 Eagle 5th wheels we looked at where garbage. Not fit for an animal. Told dealer we will swap the mattress from our trade, which is a residential that we bought since the trade trailer came with a garbage matress too.

Did you check the plywood platform the mattress lays on? I had the same problem and come to find out it wasn't the mattress but the plywood platform was bowed. Take a straight edge and lay it across the plywood to see if it is level. I had about a 1/2 gap in the middle.

Good suggestions, but it's definitely the mattress.

Yes, I am having the very same issue with my mattress in my 2017 Eagle HT 26.5 RLS. It is a very sagging mattress that I began to notice an issue with after 2 weeks of using. It is supposed to be the Simmons. It feels like it is stuffed with horse hair. I have low back pain after sleeping on this mattress. It is very unsatisfactory and will have to be replaced.

Our personal lesson learned; when buying a new RV, replace the tires, matress and water filter. IMO the factory versions may be ok for occasional camping but all three are a priority for us.

Be sure to check the platform under the bed, too. Several of us have found that it was sagging. My dealer reinforced our bed's platform, but didn't replace our sagging Denver mattress.

Bought our 2017 29.5 BHDS and on the first trip out, I caved the mattress in. At 205 lbs with my 95 lb wife, we came home and threw it out and bought a nice new one that puts the "Jayco Special" to shame.

1/4" deflection in platform, 2 1/2" of compression in the simmons mattress after 2 weeks... 7 photos with specific measurements and a confirmed pre-authorization from Jayco over 3 weeks ago, still no replacement. I bought a Sealy Posturepedic Residential "Full" size to replace the Jayco Simmons POS short queen.

Another quality warranty experience from Jayco....

I'm looking at purchasing a Jayco Egle 28.5 RSTS. We like to sleep on memory foam. Do you think the dealer will cut us a deal if we let them keep the Simmons and we replace it with the "good stuff'?

Ask them to keep the mattress and give you a credit. $150. US has been an offer.

High better check the tag on that mattress! Our 16 RSTS Eagle was suppose to have a Denver Pillow top by Lippert.Instead we got some garbage by a company Michiana. In warranty now for replacement!Happy Trails
