Slides in 2017 Eagle HT 28.5 rsts

Am I damaging the slide motors if I don't fully extend my slides each time I let them out?

No but if they are schwintek slides, they could get out of sync. But the procedure is easy to resync them. Some say they will get off sync by not running them in and out all the way. Others say no. My dealer tech says he runs them partly out all the time with no issues. I have a few times on my trailer without issue. I do continue to hold the button till the hum stops. When I put it out all the way. I have a bedroom slide Schwintek and my main slide is old school electric.

Thanks Earl. I have schwintek slides. I am still learning about my new 5th wheel. I believe I can save myself some problems by just making sure I let my slides out all the way each time. I have seen several methods for resynching the slides. What would you suggest for resynching the schwintek slides?

I haven't had to do it yet. I know there are some you tube videos on syncing them. Not sure if Lippert has a lip sheet on it or if it's in their manuals or not.

My kitchen slide was out of sync. I tried the process to sync it, which is to run it all the way out, run in 4-5 inches, and then out again. Do this 4-5 times. Did not work.

Somone on this forum has spoken with Lippert and they recommended to run the slide all the way out, push the button to start to move the slide in, and release as soon as movement is noticed/motor whine is heard. Then press and lold button to move the slide back out and hold once motors stop for 3-5 seconds. I did this 5 times at the fully extended and retracted positions, and the slide is now in perfect sync.

Hope this makes sense and helps.
