Special order fridge door wood panels

Has anyone special ordered their factory ordered unit with wood fridge door panels? Dealer claims it can be done. We highly dislike the stainless look panels on the 12 cu ft fridge. I'm curious if it will be flat wood panels or if it will be raised panels like the cabinet door fronts.

Thanks,
Earl

I don't know if Jayco will offer the option or not, but it can be done. I had a heartland RV with the raised panels on the fridge before we got our Jayco. They should be able to do it.

Jayco doesn't offer the option, would have to be a added custom special order. I'm sure they will do it. Just curious if it will just be flat panels or if it will be actual wood with raised decorative cuts like the cabinet door fronts.

Maybe you'll need to specify on your order you want the raised panels. If they can't or won't accommodate, you could get the panels made by a local cabinet guy and stain them to match

We have the SS panels as well. They were considered an upgrade with the appliance package. All they do is make the fridge stand out. Since I own a cabinet/mill shop, I plan on making integrated wood panels to replace the SS panels. A local cabinet shop could easily fabricate panels for you.

If you can add aftermarket panels or not, is determined by the trim on the frig. Does it allow for a 1/4 +- panel or just a thin metal panel? If the trim allows for 3/16" or so then your home free. You can get panels made from many sources, raised, flat whatever you want. Staining to match should not be a major issue either. Good Luck.

Raised refer panels tend to be pricey (if that matters)

I'm looking for someone who actually did this through the factory, not aftermarket or diy.

Not sure who made your refrigerator but check with the manufacturer. I have a Dometic and you can order the wood panels from them or other part dealters

My dealer had my trailer in Elite and SLX versions on the lot. Same fridge but different panels. Since we chose the Elite model which came with the SS trim, during PDI I asked my dealer if I could order the panels. They said we could call Jayco and it would probably take a while. Since I'm not a fan of Jaycos woodworking abilities, I didn't pursue it any further. I'll make them myself this winter when there's 2' of snow on the ground.
