Storage door scratch/ crease

On our maiden voyage in our 317rlok, I managed to put a huge crease in the front storage door because I left the tailgate down. Crease is about 10 to 12 inches long and about an eighth of an inch deep it could've been a lot worse what can I do to seal this or what should I do to cover the scratch ???

We're scheduled to be picking up our 317rlok this Saturday. When you say you left the TG down was that while you were hooking up or left it down while towing?

I'd use gorilla tape to keep water/dirt out. Then replace it with a new door.

I pulled over to the side of the road to recheck my electrical connection and made the rookie mistake of not putting the tailgate back up..😣

I'm sure the door isn't all too expensive. I'd bite the bullet and get a new one. No way I could look at that for long.

Removing the tail gate also gets ya about 50 LBS of pin weight relief. Maybe less for all you newer Ford owners with aluminum. I seen I guess overstock doors on Ebay for sale that look new. Another hint > write the actual height of your 5er on tape and stick it on your dash for when you are pulling into those gas stations with low roofs.
