Thermal Glaze, Satelite Prep, Fireplace

Hi Folks,
We have been members since 2011, but this is the first Post!
Where would I find the definitions of the Member Status, New Member, Senior Member, Full member etc..

We are about to buy our 2nd 5er. We have a 2008, 313RKS and are specking out a 2012, 321RLTS. We would like some input on the Thermal Glaze windows, find out what is provided in the Satelite Prep and thoughts on the heat from the fireplace.

Our fear for the Thermal Glaze is possibility of the seals failing from road travel. For the satelite, we carry the parts and reassemble at each location. Maybe the prep offered can help steamline this operaton when not under cover.
As for the fireplace, I sent a private message (shy I guess) to dlfeather, asking for the make and model of his modification and I thank him for his reply. Is the amount of heat from these types of units worth the option price or the work involved in a modification to the cabinet?

The satellite prep comes with a dish, cable and a compass. In my opinion if you already have these things, just don't get the prep package. The trailer is already Satellite ready.

A friend has a fireplace in their TT and it does kick out some heat. Not enough to warm the whole camper on a cold night, but it does take the chill out.

We have the factory option, Dimplex fireplace. IMO it is worth the price. Nice ambiance and it puts out enough heat to keep the chill off when it is cool.

We have a 2012 Eagle 351 RLTS with the factory fireplace and thermo windows. Our experience so far with the windows has been very positive. First thing we noticed was no condensation even in 20 F weather. Also appears to be less cool air draining off of them. Fewer drafts.

The fireplace does not give off a great deal of heat, just enough to keep the chill off on a frosty morning. Certainly not enough to be your primary heat source in freezing temps. Having said that, we enjoy it and adds to the comfort of our RV.

The fireplace is nothing more than an electric heater. I believe it is 1500 watts. It will take the chill off. We seldom use ours and have a Lasko electric heater on one side and a Kozy World heater on the other.
