Tire shopping for our 36 FBTS

Has anyone ever heard of, or used these tires Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range F.
I'm starting to shop around for tires for our 36 FBTS Pinnacle, I know many people recommend the G614's.

went shopping myself and local tire shop quoted me those karrier tires ( witch looks awful and seems cheap) 198$ CND

For the money , you can't beat the Sailun S637 G Rated tire. Excellent quality AND price.

Another shop quoted 175$ each CND $

I believe Maxxis stops at E rating. They are great tires for those that can run E rated but for the 36FBTS you need at least G rated tires. I went with G614's.

Did you use the factory wheels that came on your FBTS, I was told they're rated for 110psi but I can't see it on the wheel anywhere. I haven't pulled a wheel off yet, it must be out of sight while they are mounted.

Thanks

I bought 4 G614's to replace my TowMax tires after 2 failures in a 75 mile stretch. You will pay $$$ to get them but on the sidewall is "Made in USA". Priceless.

I did not see them because they were installed by the dealer as part of the deal. But I am sure they are.

Make sure the wheels can handle the weight and/or 110 lb pressure. The wheel should be stamped 3960 lbs or higher.

Maxxis and Sailun are awesome tires but, very hard to get. They're not at every tire shop you go to. In a pinch, there has to be a local alternative. I'm in the mix of changing my tires as well and it's been a real pain. Sure, I can order them all day long online but that doesn't help if you want to do the work immediately. I work at a dealer and even I have a bear of a time trying to get the tires I want. I have connections with some of the biggest tire distributors in the country and even they say, gotta get them online. Local are Carlisle, Travel King and Gladiator. I can get GY Marathons but have never been a huge fan of GY's. The search continues.

Thanks for the response, my RV is currently in storage so ordering online would work me. I am looking at the Saliuns online among others. It looks like I'm going to need to upgrade my wheels also, Mine are rated at 3850 which I believe is 80 psi not 110.

TexasRT- Our rims were 3850lbs and rated to 80 psi. We had to replace rims and tires too and went with Sailuns already mounted and balanced from Trailer Tires and Wheels.com. I called them and talked at length about tire choices as they sell the Goodyears too. They were very helpful and I got the shipment in 3 days from them. So far I am very happy with the Sailuns. They are a very heavy tire as you can tell when you take the orig. off to put the new ones on. A local farmer saw our unit and commented that he only uses Sailuns on his farm trucks/trailers because they are so tough. Give Trailer Tires and Wheels a call- maybe that will help with your choice.

Thanks for the info, I've been looking at their site but I'm going to call them also.

Forgot to tell you we went with the 17.5" rims/tires. They also need to know what size the studs are as new lug nuts are included w/the tires.

If you get under your trailer you should see on the inside of the wheel it is marked.
You might have to look at more than 1. Could be upside down.

I also upgraded to the 17.5 rims from Trailer Tires and Wheels, but I got my Sailuns locally from Kal-Tire at a lot less money than Trailer Tires and Wheels. This tire and rim combo are 38 lbs/tire heavier than what came with the trailer

Our Sailun's have been great over the last couple of years. They look great.

We check pressure every time before moving, sometimes after months of sitting like in the winter in AZ, and if the tire pressure was 5#'s less no big deal.

Hard to get? Not at all. We got ours Sailun's installed at a Big O's in Reno. They did not have them in stock for our size but called their warehouse over the hill in Sacramento. Next day the tires were in and on.

Oh...and the tires had a real recent date on them.

Recommend highly...and a lot less than the GY's which we also looked at. After many miles we have a 'comfortable' feeling about the tires on our rig.

Found this site today for tires and wheels plus more, they only ship north of the border so for those that live close to the border or live here

Thanks Larry, I think I'm sold on the Saliuns.
