Wow, that is a lot of water to carry, 780lbs. Theoretically the tank and straps (or holding area) should hold as designed and with a rig that big I'm sure your using a diesel torque monster. The bottom line to me would how long is your intended stay and whether or not you need that much.

On trips where I have a water hook up I carry about 1/4 tank or less. With my old motorhome I always carried more than I needed, and after the trips wondered why. When I backpack I tend to carry too much as well, but the old saying is "You don't miss your water until your well runs dry!"

As long as you are with in your weight limit you should be fine. It is better to tow with a full tank over a half full tank. If the tank is only partly filled the water can slosh around side to side and cause sway.

Out TT holds 90 gal. and we tow with empty tanks. To me that roughly 800 lbs is a lot of weight that you don't have to pull. i fill at the CG using a filter on the hose when filling i also drain the fresh water tank when i leave for home.

Water tank

I have a 2010 365 BHS. I have never towed with a full tank, but I carry some water all of the time. The camper is heavy and 500-800 pounds really makes no difference. If you have any questions let me know. It is a big camper and you really have to watch low hanging trees at the campsites. I want to know if the air in the bunkhouse work?

In the old days, we always carried a full tank of fresh water because you never knew when you might need water for the radiator or for drinking- Also
in that day, we ALWAYS stopped to assist other travelers- We still carry a full tank today for a different reason- The water quality available today is more questionable- Unfortunately, we no longer stop to assist anyone- Don't ask why this changed- DD

For short trips boon docking you should be ok. I know it can be hard to find a place to fill a tank in a strange neighborhood.

I usually go with full tanks.. the extra weight does not effect highway mileage.. just in town economy.. but with a full tank you do not get the slosh that you do with a 1/4 full tank and that can cause problems esp if you have to make an emergency maneuver like I had to a few weeks ago..

I always travel with full tanks (92 Gallons) when we boondock. The size of the FW tank is a big reason we bought a Jayco,

I almost always travel with a full tank, in fact the few times that I haven't I did not notice a mileage difference at all.

I emailed Jayco last year and they said it is OK to travel with full tanks.

X2 on the not stopping anymore to help someone. I'm kinda dating myself, but can remember the times when even tractor trailer drivers would often stop along the road to help a stranded motorist. Believe the last time I saw that happen was back in the late 50's somewhere. I used to be in a REACT club, whose purpose was to help stranded motorists on the Beltway around WashDC. We would stop, get out, and radio for the needed help, then stay until help arrived. That was until one of our units had a gun pulled on him - a fake breakdown. I quit doing that soon after. BTW, for those in the younger generation, that was before anyone had even dreamed of cell phones.

That was back in the day when a cup of coffee appeared out of the campers to welcome the newcomers before you could unhook- If only we could bring back those "GOOD OLD DAYS"- JMHO- DD
