Uni-Dock Utility Center

Have a couple of questions regarding the UDUC on our 377 RLBH Northpoint.

First;

When we picked up the unit and during the PDI we were told to make sure that all the pressure is off the valves before you switch from one position to another. They said this will void your warranty and that Jayco can tell if the valves are bad or if there was pressure still on when they were switched. Can not find anything in the owners manual about this.

Second;

The inputs Cable, satellite & Auxiliary - what is Auxiliary used for? Again we have been forward and backwards in the owners manual and cannot find anything about this.

In advance , thank you for your help.

I read about not having pressure in the valves somewhere, but I have not heeded the advice.
I didn't know they could tell.
I wouldn't have to worry about having pressure in there while switching if they WOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN AWAY THE GRAVITY FEED WATER FILL!!!!

I don't understand why anyone would want to fill the water tank like we have to.

I think that sounds like something the dealer came up with.I have never had a problem with my valves and never worried if they were under pressure or not when I operated them.

Has anyone made a manifold to rinse the black tank without unhooking the main water line? Working on one now but i am thinking that brass is too heavy after putting it together.

Have you tried this? With a backflow preventer attached.

Have you tried using a wye at the faucet? It screws on to the faucet and gives you 2 hose connections. I recommend using a backflow preventer, sometimes called a vaccuum breaker, in the water lines. That is what I use on my rig.

How about something with a quick connect and short pieces of hose.
That way you can screw the hose end to the trailer first. Easier if you don't have anything on the other end.
Then attach to the quick connects.

I purchased a brass Y with cutoffs on both legs from Lowes. At Camping World, I purchased 2 white six inch long hose extensions. Also bought a quick disconnect for the water hose. Hook one extension to the city water fitting and the other to the black tank wash fitting. Hook the Y to the two extensions. Connect the water hose to feed the two legs. Use the cutoff valves on the two legs of the Y to alternate between your water supply and tank wash. When I wash the tank, I learned to NEVER EVER NEVER leave the valve open and walk away!!!! ALWAYS make sure the DRAIN VALVE for the BLACK TANK is OPEN. Sewage from the black tank can and will enter the camper and make a mess that never leaves.

My unit has a caution sticker on the panel about moving the valves while under pressure that damage will occur and is not covered. Has anyone figured out what exactly that means. And what gets damaged. Like u said why not have a separate open fill for water tank.

Can anyone come up with valid reasoning of why it's better to have the tank fill work off the valving instead of a simple gravity fill?
I have yet to be at a water fill station that had a hose connection that A-wasn't stripped. B-even had a connection. C-had an air gap filler handle that can't take any back pressure what's so ever.

In the instruction manual it says to "country fill" where there is no connection. That means fill a bucket and use the supplied short hose and pump the water out.
Why would I want to do that?
I would rather hold the hose in my gravity hole and fill the tank...I'm sure the folks waiting in line would rather I did that too.

I hate to quote my own post...but I also wouldn't need that dumb over flow tube that siphons half the water back out of the tank.
Obviously that engineer has never been camping in his own design.

I dry camp ad took the overflow and just added a garden hose on off valve. The plastic male end screwed right into the hose. And since the TT was gravity fill u did not worry about over pressure on tank. Now I can keep a full tank while towing to site The FW fill is terrible for me since I use the river on my site for the water tank. Bottle water for drinking. So now I have to be careful filling and I will need to also siphon or make an inline injector to add a cap of bleach to the water tank

No joke on the gravity feed filler. Never had a rig without one. I know 81 gal of fresh water is a lot but a week of boondocking will use that up quickly. I've always carried a flex funnel and collapsible water containers and am happy to add 10 gal every other day....no can do now....at least not ad easily.

Just my two cents worth.
