Unknown Switch
I have a 2017 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS. In the battery compartment there is a switch on the wall and can't figure out what it is for. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Battery cut-off switch maybe or cargo area lamp? Is it red?

Maybe for solar too. Some come pre-wired I believe.

It's not battery disconnect switch or cargo light switch. Could be solar. Maybe it's for the nose light. Have to experiment I guess.

Could be a docking lamp switch.

You'd think they'd (Jayco) label it.

If they did everything right, there would be no need for the JOF!!!

I would guess that it is a power switch for an optional rear camera system. There will be a wire bundled with the wires leading to the center clearance light on the back for powering a backup camera. The switch you mention turns power on and off to that wire, thus young the camera on or off.
You should have a sticker on that door, or another one saying that it's pre-wired for a rear view camera.

On my 2016 29.5 FBDS, that rocker type switch by the battery is the power for the back up camera.

It is the switch for the rear view camera. If there was a sticker on your battery box about being pre-wired for a back-up camera, that is what it is.
My dealer didn't use the pre-wiring though, they wired it to the running lights, so I have a spare switch.

Why would someone opt to turn it off? Is hardwired to the battery? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

So it doesn't drain the battery when not in use. Probably makes the camera last longer if it's not powered 365 days a year. Especially important when you're booning it. Every little bit of power is your enemy in that case.
