Vain Birds

On my year rig, there is a mirror on the front cap for looking at the pin when hooking up. Mine was completely obscured by bird feathers, feces and who know what else. They found the mirror and didn't like what they saw I guess.

I have heard of campers in MH's covering the mirrors to prevent birds being attracted to them and we have seen them picking at hub caps in other locations.

If this continues, I may have to cover it with something.

Whenever I've had a problem with birds attacking their reflection it's usually cardinals. One year I had a cardinal that attacked its reflection in the garage windows on my house and all the side mirrors of my vehicles. I covered the mirrors with bags each night and smeared joint compound on the outside of the windows in an attempt to get it to stop. I thought it worked until found the body when the snow melted in the spring. The poor thing must have fatally injured itself in one of its attacks.

This also the nesting time so check your fifth wheel hitch inside for bird nests.
I have had to destroy a few until I taped it off to keep them out.
