Want to Put Fantastic Vent in the vent hole above bed

I have a 2011 Jayco Eagle 321RLTS 5th wheel. I am looking at putting in a Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan/Vent with Remote Control. After opening the location up, all I could find was wiring in place for a Air Conditioner.

There is a light in the bedroom closet about 4 ft away that I might be able to pull 12 volt from.

Has anybody ran across this issue, and any suggestions?

Greg are you sure that their is not 12 volts up their ? I would check my connections with a volt meter. Also email service at Jayco with your model and serial # they can also let you know. Color coding on RV wiring is different than your standard 12 v we are use too red and black

Why don't you use the wires for the AC that you found?

Because the Fantastic Fan runs on 12v.

I just replaced mine. I used the A/C wire and "converted" it to 12V at the converter. Very easy to do. Just unhook from the breaker and ground bars and rewire to the 12V ground bar and use one of the spare 12V fuse positions.

We must remember, our experience levels on here vary from beginner to expert, and somewhere in between. ExChief's explanation of how he did use the AC wiring was very enlightening, to me anyway. I would never have thought of that, but with that explanation, it was made pretty simple. LOL

I had the same problem on my TT. Take off the vent and the inside flashing.. take the light off the ceiling.. using a thick wire make a hole in the foam insulation going from the vent to the light. Once it is through tape appropriate gauge wire to the "fishing wire" and pull it through. Actually easy but can be a little frustrating.
