Washer/Dryer Question for 2017 Pinnacle 36FBTS

Hello! I hope you all can help...

We are definitely getting a stackable washer/dryer for our new fw. I can't find technical info on the w/d prep. First, my husband is very capable with electrical, power tools, etc. He could definitely do the job, but, if it's outrageously hard, should we just let the dealer do it?

Couple of questions:
1) Dealer is quoting $2500 PLUS labor and parts to install a Splendide stackable. That seems crazy high to me. Is that normal?
2) I've found new Splendide set online for $1550 (dryer 115v) - delivered; Whirlpool $1350 delivered
3) Can we use 240v dryer (whirlpool)?

Any help would be great!

The only wiring in the closet for the dryer is 110.
We have the Whirlpool stackable and only paid $1250 for both of them installed at out dealer. I couldn't beat that price. I am not 100% sure they didn't burry some of the costs into our new camper when we ordered it, but overall they were $20K less than the neighboring Jayco dealer.

We have a 2016 Jayco Designer 39RE. Purchased the stackable Ariston washer and dryer from Camping world and had them installed. Price was <$2300 but included installation, 2 year extended warranty and all additional parts needed besides the washer and dryer. Our 5er was pre-plumbed for washer and dryer. The dryer and washer are 110V. By the way, might want to think about the installation as the washer is very heavy and took two techs to get it into the closet where it is installed. Personally, let the dealer install.

120 voltage is all you can install, the 220 volt unit will not work.

We had Jayco install the washer/dryer in our 36FBTS. It was $2300 in March, 2015. They covered it under the 2 year warranty. Had 2 power surges (despite surge protection) and it blew out the washer something or other, yet was fixed under warranty.

We also have a new 2017 36fbts. We also had the splendid w/d bought and installed for 1,700. My husband is also very capable of doing the job himself and we chose to have them install it. Reason being...the dealer said, if we install it, its under warranty, if you install it, its not...so that right there sold us......so they installed them, ran water through the washing machine...then winterized it there at the dealership...if you can get them to come down in the price, or find a better deal elsewhere... I would have them install just for peace of mind on warranty on top of the convenience of it being done for you...

We pulled the trigger today...Brought home our new 2017 Pinnacle 36FBTS! It's really cool. Selected this model based on the many "happy campers" who love their 36FBTS's.

Now for the big project. We have ordered the Splendide stackable washer/dryer and hopefully the install will go according to plan. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for all of the comments!

In the end, DH ran out of time, so we had the dealer install the units. They did a great job and the units work really well. Our last 5th wheel didn't have them, so this is a big step up!
