Water Pump

i would like to replace the water pump on my 2016 Jayco 26.5 BHS as its very noisy especially at night, can anybody recommend a replacement pump possible a marine pump, i have been told they are very quiet?

I don't know your specific situation, but it may NOT be your pump.
There are lots of threads here on silencing your water pump. These range from adding a foam rubber platform under the pump motor, adding soft (not rigid) tubing on either side of the pump, wrapping foam pipe insulation wherever your rigid pex plumping contacts hard surfaces, etc.

You might spend big dollars buying and installing a new water pump only to find that it is just as noisy, because the noise wasn't really the fault of your current pump.

+1 Do some testing before you replace the pump.

Also, for ~$30 I got almost all of the noise out of my water system using an accumulator tank. I got mine from Amazon, but you can get them all over the place. Install was fairly easy, it was cheap, and now I can hardly hear the pump when it runs. If the AC is on, I can't hear it at all.

My pump had 2 tight mounting screws, one loose screw and one missing screw. This allowed the pump to vibrate. The plumbing routing leaves a lot to be desired as well, with hard pipes resting against the pump. I agree with the others, most of the issue will be with how the pump is secured and the hard plumbing lines.

Look at how its installed. The output side should not be rigid pex, but flexible hose. Also, remounting it on something like an old mousepad and padding hoses where they touch cabinets will amount to big gains. An accumulator is an easy fix, but depending on pump model may not be necessary.

I had tried a few of the other solutions mentioned in this thread to no avail. Turns out most of my noise came from the pump cycling repeatedly during use. It would kick on and off and that constant cycling would rattle the pipes all over the trailer. With the accumulator tank, it's smooth, consistent operation, which equals quiet for my trailer.

Either way, my first effort would NOT be to replace the pump.

I installed an accumulator on my system a few years back. I have a spot under the kitchen sink that was designed for an inline water filter for sink cold water. I never used this since I have a "whole house" system for all water entering my 5'er. But I did use this spot with the fittings already installed for the accumulator. I just unscrewed the short hose that was there and replaced it with the accumulator. It works fine.

It didn't eliminate all of the noise from my water pump, but it kept the on/off of the pump to a minimum. When my pump failed last year the new replacement pump is almost perfectly silent, but then I made sure it was screwed down good when I installed the new one.

thanks for your feedback, ill have a look at the pump this weekend & see how its been installed & possibly make some adjustments to start with.
