What exactly does this mean

I have a warning that says. A check valve is located in city water connection inlet on the utility center. Never depress the check valve on city water connection inlet with pressure in line. Irreparable damage to valve and inlet will leak

I assume this valve is behind the utility center and what purpose does it do? Does it keep city water from flowing to fresh tank?

I am asking because I dry camp and use a water pump to take river water to the city connection when showering. So if I turn off my generator and now leave the utility center as set for city water, what will happen if inside I turn on water pump to get water for toilet or sink? Or must I now go back outside and set the utility center to dry camp setting? This will just be another PIA like not being able to just fill the fresh tank especially if raining outside. I have been bleeding off the city water pressure before I switch the valves to dry camp but not sure if I even need to do that.

I believe it's referring to the valve just behind the screen at the connection. There's a check valve there to prevent outflow. And they don't want you to depress it because when in use, the system is pressurized and could cause damage.

With the system depressurized, you can push this check valve in. It's used when winterizing as well to allow AF to fill the inlet area.

The check valve is just behind the screen on the city water inlet.. it keeps water in the RV when you are using the tank and water pump (Boondocking).. otherwise water would pour out through there.

The line between your city hookup and the faucet has a check valve that maintains pressure in the line and keeps water from flowing out the city hookup when running off the 12V pump. It can be damaged if you push in on it to release the pressure from the city hookup side. To relieve pressure just open a faucet with your water pump off. It's something you would likely never do anyway as you have to pull the inlet screen off to do it.
