Whisperquiet AC Dripping inside
Hi ! I have a whisperquiet ac and it dripped inside by the air return duck.
It's not rain since it didn't rain for the last 2 weeks. I removed the cover to check if there was a drain hole clogged somewhere but could not find any. It's dark so i'll take a better look tomorrow morning. Just wanted to know if somebody had the same problem with this AC system.
thanks

The first time I used mine when it was brand new I was more than dripped on, I was dumped on. I walked over to the fridge and it came out pouring out of the return duct. That time it was totally plugged. I pulled off the evaporator cover and the tray was packed solid of what appeared to be sand, didn't feel anything like saw dust. I cleaned the filters in the tray and cleaned out the drain and that took care of it. But my guess is it may be freezing up a little. Last year when I ran on low speed it froze a little and dripped mildly out the return duct. That happened a few times. Since then I always run on high and haven't had any further problems. So that could be your problem if the drain is not plugged.

Biggest reason I never liked the whisper quiet system is it's too hard to detect a AC gasket leak. The old school system works and is fool proof. Pull the interior panel and check gasket. The whisper quiet system you can only check the seal from the top, or wait until you're ceiling shows signs of water damage and rot. Good concept I guess, but bad design as far as leak detection goes. I'll never own one that isn't an old school install, or drop in ducted unit.
Funny this thread popped up. I was just on a lot today looking at some FR fifth wheels that "used" to have the whisper quiet system in the 2016 models. 2017 went back to traditional install due to insufficient return air, freezing up and leaking. Go figure. Maybe a design flaw on FR's part, but regardless a similar issue.

Not sure what you are saying. Are you saying you've been running on high all along? Did you just pull the main cover off? Because you won't see anything until you take the other cover off to get to the evaporator. If it is froze, just turn it off and in awhile you should see a good amount of water coming off the roof as it thaws out. I'm assuming your in a fairly warm climate. Mine only froze when it was quite humid and I was running on low.

If it's hot or humid, high fan is almost a must for any RV roof air to keep from freezing up.

Had the same issue out of the factory and turned out to be the condenser was mounted incorrectly resulting in the interior drip. Under warranty the unit was fixed and the drip went away.

A/C leak
Had a slow leak at the ceiling grille during recent rains. Never before, and no leak driving 60 mph in rain. Yours may be a different model. The installation instructions say to tighten the 4 corner screws to compress the gasket so that the 4 plastic telltales in the corners are flush to the roof it is installed on. Pull the ceiling grille and tighten the gasket screws. BIG rains in our New Years trip to Laughlin and no leaks for us after tightening. No roof time because there is nothing to see.

Makes one wonder why this issue was not addressed by the dealer during their PDI.

The only time I have ever had a drip inside was because the top unit froze up during high humid nights... I could look up inside the A/C unit from inside the trailer and see ice forming up on it
I also have had to tighten up the four long roof mounting screws to keep the A/C gasget even depressed.
When I go down real rough roads the A/C bounces alot I guess and and I need to reset the large 14-inch square roof gasket again.
I've done this three or four times since using my 2008 off-road RV POPUP trailer
I also always park with a small incline to the back side of the roof to allow the A/C to drain off the back side of the popup roof. Having it drain into the patio areas was always a bad deal for us...

Does it drip more once the unit shuts down within the following 5 minutes?
If so then it's not the gasket. Mine would drip then steadily stream once all the ice melted off the hot unit immediately following shut down.
