Winter camping with Slides

Can you fit into the camper with the slides in for winter camping? We have not gotten our camper yet but wanted to know if you can get inside and use the bed and such with the slides in? Pictures would be great. We just ordered The 2016 Eagle 317RLOCK model

Welcome!

You will be able to easily access the bathroom and bedroom, though with the bedroom slide in you won't be able to walk by the foot of the bed, you'll have to climb over. The under bed storage could also be a challenge as the foot of the bed is tight against the dresser.

The lower deck is a different story - we can access the hutch and pantry that are just inside the door, and one of the fridge doors (we went with the 12') will open, but that's about it. The curb side slide is tight against the island so you won't be able to squeeze through there, and even if you could, with the off-door slide closed there isn't much room between them anyway.

Sorry, don't have pictures.

Why wouldn't you put the slides out?

We are seasonal right now in Mass and was concerned about trying to open with snow or ice on roof.

Yep, snow and thick ice would be a problem when trying to close it up

Not sure if slide toppers would help much with the weight of the snow if it's wet heavy stuff. Probably not. As far as getting to the bed in ours, we couldn't get in through the main bedroom door as the slide blocks it completely but there is a second door from the bathroom into the bedroom. Unfortunately that door swings into the bedroom and is blocked by the bed. Only alternative would be to sleep on the couches in the living room, or the floor.
That's not our cup of tea anymore...

You can open your slides (even if your roof is covered with snow) but if the slides when out are covered with ice and/or snow you have to cleaned first. Use a de-icing, clean it and retract slides. Be sure to have a stepladder onboard. Its hat simple.

snow and ice - combat with a broom and a hair dryer when it's time to retract the slides?

Just a thought.
