I tried air by itself, but as I inspected the lines I found pockets where the water still settled and was concerned - also the pump and the pump filter seemed to keep quite a bit of water in it. I usually blow out my lines, then pump anti-freeze. By doing that - I tend to use at least a gallon less anti-freeze.

I pump anti-freeze in my lines, but "lightly" blow out the black tank rinse line.

I have used air for many years and it gets down to single digit temps here in northern MD, never had a problem. If you do it properly you should be OK.

I used anti-freeze once and it took forever to get it out of the system. I use only air now and have never had a problem. But, you have to make sure you get all the water out. I hook up an air compressor to the water inlet and go to each fixture twice to make sure its all out. I do pour a little anti-freeze in the traps. I forgot to do the traps last year but nothing broke. Good Luck

Anti-freeze never failed me (but then, now that I've said that, ask me next spring!)

I blow out the lines first & then run antifreeze thru them then blow out again. whatever residual remains protects any low lying areas.

I used to drain and use antifreeze. That way the sink traps are protected. Some models have water lines running all over the coach and it can be difficult to blow them out. I much prefer Seanns method. I leave in Sept and return in late April or May.

Ive done both and if done correctly will provide complete protection. Antifreeze is more expensive but is the method I've used the past 2 seasons. If you use air, just make sure all of your lines are blown out thoroughly.

I have noticed a set of shut off- in line valves, Hot and Cold, in the front storage area and a set of low point drain valves between there and the W/D connections.

Next time I drain the system, I plan to close the water supply valves and drain the water from the rest of the washer lines via the low point drains and just leave them off. It should eliminate a potential problem and speed up my winterization, as long as the W/D is not being used.

Thinking about tagging it so I won't forget!
