Winterizing Electrical Question
I have a 2014 351 RSTS fifth wheel. There is enough room on my property to store my camper next to my shop. I have 2 questions. Firstly, is there any problem plugging the unit in (15 amp) and leaving it plugged in all winter? Secondly, if I plug it in for the winter do I still need to remove the batteries? Wouldn't the batteries remain charged through the system if it is plugged in?
Thanks in advance.

I've always pulled the battery, filled the cells w/ water, cleaned the terminals and top of battery w/ baking soda and flushed it clean ( just like you should be doing to your vehicles, in prep for winter). Charge it full, set it on a piece of wood off the concrete and charge it every couple months until spring time. Still the original interstate 24 series in the TT since 2009

Nope, leaving it plugged in is just fine, and you don't have to remove the batteries. Your 2014 model Jayco has a "smart" converter/charger so it will keep the batteries charged without over charging them.
It is wise to check the batteries once a month for proper water level.

I've been keeping mine plugged in for years without any problems. Ready to go at a moments notice. Just fill the fresh water tank, hook it up and I'm off!

it is fine to leave them in the trailer and the unit plugged in. The key is make sure the cells are properly filled with DISTILLED water. Only use distilled water. I check my batterys every few months and ususally once or twice a year they need to be topped off.

Keep mine plugged in as well. My Interstate battery is original and approaching 5 years old now.

Have an '07 that we have plugged in always. In fact from Memorial Day to Labor Day or there abouts, we have the fridge on and working the entire time.
