2 week mega-trip!!!!

Here's a post trip report from our 2 week camping trip. Cast members are me, DW AND 2 DD. Camper is a 2015 Jay Flight 28BHBE AND TV is a 2012 Suburban 1500. I just installed new Mich LT tires and had trans fluid/ filter changed for the trip. Started off w/ a trip to Morehead, NC for the DDs national dance comps. Found a CG 5 min from comp and it was a nice one. The weather was a scorcher! After 5 days there, we and another family took our campers down to Walt Disney World and Ft. Wilderness CG for 9 days. On the way down, outside temps hit 102/103 and trans temps steadied out at 216 for the most part, while engine temps rose to 220ish during the hottest times. I kept my towing speed around 60-62 and RPMs around 2000. We drove I-95 all the way down to Jacksonville, Fla to stay overnight, and arrived at Disney around 12:30 the next day. Traffic was decent and no really scary points. I just paid attention to my mirrors, temps and speed and it was smooth sailing. And the return trip was even better because outside temps were just in the upper 80s!!!

We LOVE this camper!!! It did exactly what we wanted when we were looking for one. It held all of us comfortably and we love the space. We still have a leak around the shower that the dealer said they fixed, but didn't. And the two support beams under the main bed popped away from the plywood base. I saw where the screw heads popped through. This makes the bed sag toward the middle. But other than those two issues, the camper is doing great.

I just want to say thanks to all on here for all of the contributions. I did ALOT of reading, re-reading and then some more question asking. Without all of that info, it made our vacation a blast. So thanks again.

Making the Disney trip in the Spring. DW is so NERVOUS about towing through the mountains of TN. She's like, "They don't have those runaway strips on the side of the road for nothing you know". I try to assure her that I am a safe driver................ In the mountains.

I just finished replacing our sagging plywood mattress foundation. It also had the support beams running length wise instead of side to side. I replaced our plywood with a slightly thicker piece and ran the support beams from side to side. I also designed and installed a support from the floor up the the center beam. This totally eliminated 100% of the sagging in the middle and now me and DW don't meet in the middle unless it's mutually agreed upon. lol
