Exclamation 2011 Jay Flight 29 QBH Issue with Jensen Built in audio!

Hello, We actually have a QBH 29. we are in our trailer for its first mayden voyage and my wife mentioned to me all last week that she would come in to the trailer and the stereo was on. She thought that she may have accdently hit the on button. However it has happened numeous of times after he fact. So as I am sitting here watching a show with my kids the audio turned on by itself as my wife has been telling me. I thought she was crazy. But any ideas why this is happening? there is no remote for the unit so I ruled this out. Could it be a short somewhereIm concearned because if it turns on while we are not plugged in the battery could drain. Second, if it turns on at night it will surely scare the heck out of all of us.

Our 26BH has a Jensen radio also. When we did our walk through, the dealer showed us that the stereo has an alarm and if you dont turn it off the radio will on when that alarm is set to go off. I would check this out. Its not obvious when its on or off.

good luck!

Eric

I tend to think like eredinger and wonder if the alarm is set. Does it do it more than once a day?

Not sure if they have changed in the last 2 years, but to the left of the AUD button, there should be a small hole. That is the reset button. Use something small and press the button in for a few seconds and you will reset the unit.

That may get rid of the problem....and dont mind Healthi -- she is a little paranoid

Yep...they have an alarm....but who wants and alarm without a Snooze button! You would have to get up right away and turn it off....

I too noticed the radio being on a couple times and was pretty sure I didn't leave it on. I discovered it had an alarm...

Hahaha! I just figured it out.... some factory/dealer tech decided to play a prank on the unsuspecting customer and set the alarm for the middle of the night!

Good deal! No reason to feel stupid, that is an easy thing to overlook. Most folks don't even realize there is an alarm on it.

Don't feel bad! If it wasn't for your post, neither Don or I would have known we even had an alarm!!!

That reminds me I have a small wireless weather station in our TT and I hit the alarm button by accident one time. I had to leave that night to go to work but the next day when I arrived at the CG the DW let me know that the alarm went off and woke up the kids and her at 5 AM or so. And once the kids are up that`s it. They`re up. She was not amused and I sheepishly turned off the alarm mode. If it happened again the weather station was history, or so I was told.

OK, I feel stupid too. Now I finally know why the heck the radio in our old Fleetwood pup would always go off. I admit I had no clue there was an alarm. I would just turn the volume down to '0' before going to bed.

I did the same thing with our "weather boy" as we all him. That alarm button just isn't user friendly.
