2011 Jayco 264BH
Ok Jayco Owners I really need your input here. My hubby and I are seriously about buying a second hand 2011 Jayco 264BH that is is mint condition, it was used only once for a trip to Jasper and ever since then it's been parked on the owner's driveway and used as an extra bedroom during the summer. He's asking 15K. The price is right... I think, but we would loooove to hear about your experiences with this specific model please
Thanks!!!!
Carolina and Scott

I just bought a 26BH after researching the SLX 264BHW and that seems overpriced for a 5 year old unit very similar to the 264BHW. The dealer I bought mine from was going to sell me a brand new 2016 264BHW for $18,200 CAD TOTAL before any negotiating.
Is it located in Yellowknife? The location may be driving up your prices.

Hello Carolina, welcome and hope you get your trailer. Our 2014 264BH has been great. But $15k is too much. That's just about what I paid for mine brand new (with every option except fiberglass sidewalls and enclosed underbelly).

Keep in mind in Canada they are quite a bit more expensive new and worse with the exchange. But yes, $15k does seem expensive.
NA Guides prices this year of 264BH at $8k USD retail (i.e. from a dealer).

That's too much money for that trailer. That thing should sell for more like 11-13K Canadian. Maybe things are different up north, but the rest of the country is more on par with what I figure.
Keep in mind that it's going to need new tires, probably a brake/bearing service, and hopefully the roof sealant has been tended to over the years. All of that is going to cost you probably close to 1K on top of purchase price.
If it were me, I would be offering 12K for that particular trailer with a good expectation of the seller accepting. He may say that he paid over 20K for it new and can't go that low, but it's not your fault he got hosed by a dealer.

ZPrices are higher here in Canada and new are even worse with the low dollar, but the comments are making me wonder about the deal we have put a deposite on.
We are looking at a 2011 Jay Feather 242 Select in new condition little used and very well maintained. The price is 15,000 but that includes equalizer, sway, brake controller (all installed) fully serviced including caulking, brakes etc, and a 1 Year warranty. According to the NADA guide it seems about right, but we are new to this so who knows.
It seems used trailers are pretty scarce, in Canada right now especially smaller to mid sized.

I agree with most on this thread, $15K is way too high. We bought new 2016 264BHW in Feb 2016 for $14K. I understand mint condition but used is used. The warranty doesn't transfer and anything that might go wrong is out of your pocket. I'd offer $10K regardless of location....all they can say is no. Also consider cost of 2 year warranty vs no warranty....maybe buying new makes more sense. What "extras" are included...equalizer hitch? fully stocked? All the pieces to stock a unit (sewer hose, water hose, leveler pads, wheel chocks, etc..) all add up in cost. Just my $0.02. We've had ours for 4 months and already taking it in for warranty. Good luck in your search.
