My guess is that you have the Atwood 6 gal. heater. There is a replacement thermostat, but most of us have learned how to live with the hot temps. Some open the bypass valve that allows some cold water mix with the hot right at the tank. We have found that by turning on some cold as you turn on the hot at the spigots, we can easily live with the hot temps. There is a method to Atwoods madness. Because its only a 6 gal tank, they increased the temp to help compensate for the lack of volume. It makes a big difference. The trailer we had before had a 10 gal Suburban heater. Its temps were no where near that hot. But low and behold, we NEVER run out of hot water with our current 6 gal Atwood and occasionally we did run out on the 10 gal. Suburban. I thought that we were accepting less in hot water with the Atwood. But that is not the case. The high temp Atwood lets us use all the hot water we need. It takes a little personal adjusting but not much!!
