2013 Eagle 328 hot water heater

Our dealer tells me we need to have both propane and electric water heater on for electric to heat water heater. Water heater works good on propane. If we turn AC on and propane off we have no hot water.
Is the dealer correct?

That is not how our water heater works. It will run on either electric or propane. To get hot water quickly (like when I forgot to turn the heater on and DW wants hot water now) I will turn both on for a while. It sounds like the electric part of your heater is not working. Have you checked the circuit breaker for the heater? It is easy to burn out the electric heater element if it inadvertently gets turned on with no water in the tank.

Welcome to JOF !

No....., as mentioned it's either source separately, or both at the same time.

It appears that you are still under warranty, I would take your TT to the RV dealership for warranty service if you don't see an easy fix (breaker, etc.). If your RV dealer still holds to the belief both sources (110V/LP) have to be on at the same time for HWH operation, have them re-read your Jayco owners manual.

That's interesting. Didn't think you could use both at the same time, but that's a good idea
