2016 Eagle - Sink Covers?

I went out to the dealer's lot today and took a sneak peak at my new trailer that I'm taking delivery of on Monday.

I expected it was going to have matching sink covers. I swear I've seen these in photos, but it does not.

Anyone know whether this is a standard part of an Eagle that I should bug the dealer about, or whether i need to order something, or do I simply have to go out and buy something and cut to fit?

It's kind of an important feature for my wife... who's an avid cook, on the road or off!

As a side note, I love it, my only real complaint is that I have to wait until Monday to get it home.

Does it have solid surface counters? I have the solid surface counters in my 2015 Eagle with under counter mounted sink. My sink covers do match the counters.

Yes, it has solid surface counters.

And just found this on the jayco website for the 2016 Eagles:

"HI-MACSŪ solid-surface kitchen countertop by LGŪ with pullout sprayer kitchen faucet and flush-mount sink covers (standard on select models, optional on others)"

There was no option on the order form to order the sink covers separate from the solid-surface counters, so I am going to ask for them directly. A bit disappointed about this piece...

My brother in law got his 2016 eagle 338rets at the Hershey Show and it has sink covers that match the counter top. If the dealer says it doesn't come with them I would call Jayco and ask them directly (574-825-5861)

Yeah, just checked the downloadable brochure. I'll see what the dealer has to say on Monday, if he tells me they just don't come with that, I'll call BS and get on the phone with Jayco.

It's pretty clear.

As others have said I would contact Jayco before going back to the dealer. You are buying a top of the line trailer. I would not settle for anything less than expected.

I agree... but I haven't taken delivery or done the formal walkthrough or signed the papers yet.

I just knew it was on the lot, and while I'm scheduled to pick it up on Monday morning, I drove over for a sneak peek today and it was unlocked, so I checked it out.

Everything else appears to be in place an in pristine condition, just missing sink covers for some reason. Could be they're in a drawer I forgot to check or something (though I think i checked all the drawers).

Anyhow, dealer gets the next move. If they don't have the sink covers to go with it, I'll work through Jayco.

I'm not declining delivery over the sink covers, but I will be sure I get them.

For the record, the dealer hasn't "said" anything about it yet. They will have to respond on Monday, however.

Check under the mattresses or under the beds for the sink covers. That's where mine were put for transportation. -

Ah, ok. That's probably it.

The trailer *did* just show up at the dealer a day ago...

Can't wait to take it home, my quick scan of it today showed me that it seems very solid, actually. I did find one door over the sink that I don't think holds strong enough to withstand a drive down a bumpy road. Have to point that out and find out how to make it a bit tighter.

Also will need to get rid of the clothes hanging rods and put in some shelves...

Also need to install my Progressive Industries surge protector...

Also need... well... y'all get the point!

LOL! I'm a bit excited (and excitable, evidently)!

Congrats and good luck with the walk thru. It should definitely come with the covers. The option you quoted from Jayco is the solid surface countertops. If it comes with them, then the sink covers are automatic.

If he will, let him show you how he repairs the cabinet door so you know how to make the repair yourself on the road if needed.

How exciting. Congrats on the new unit. As stated prior, our Hi Mac sink covers were under our bed when we took delivery. We do not travel with ours in place they are heavy.I made a sack for each cover and they travel in the space between the sofa and dinette. Never have had any issues during travel.

Enjoy!
